yes, it counts for both challenges. i loved The Summer I Turned Pretty and by the end of the series was totally in love with Conrad!

Jessica, i thought the first book was the best in the series, so if you weren't in love with it, then it might not be worth it for you to continue. I will say, though, that in the last book there are chapters from Conrad and Jeremy's perspectives which I loved.

Week 2 book: and my review (view spoiler)[I really enjoyed this book. I bought this book on my NOOK over a year ago because it was on sale and looked good. At the time I had no idea that it is based on The Twelve Dancing Princesses. The only reason I picked it up this time was because the dress on the front was great for the week story-telling challenge. However I was in for a great read once I started.

Princess Azalea and her eleven sisters have lost their mother after the birth of the twelfth princess, little Lily. As goes tradition the girls are locked inside their house for mourning. They most follow the following rules: (1) wear only black, (2) all clocks are stopped at the time of death, (3) NO DANCING, and (4) no visitors at all. And on top of this their father has pushed them away when they need him the most. One night Princess Azalea discovers a passageway that leads her and her sisters to somewhere safe. Somewhere the princesses are allowed to dance and laugh but most of have a little fun in their time of sadness. The girls meet the keeper, who in a way is trapped there and it's him who allows the princesses to come back every night to dance their hearts out. However it might look fun to the girls now but there will be a price to pay later. The keeper likes to “keep” things and it will up to Princess Azalea to save her sisters before something happen to them.

Each of the twelve princesses had their own traits, from the oldest to the youngest. They were all so different. Which I loved from the start. In a way and even with the girls mourning I really wanted to join them and learn those dances with them. The girls were able to let loose when they danced and I believe that dancing is a tool that can help anyone. By picking this book up it allowed me to feel like I was the fly on the wall when they were dancing. It’s a world filled with magic, love, loss, and finding the true meaning of family. Just to clarify for week three, I would count any book where the main character is not a normal human....i.e. he or she is supernatural, paranormal, mythological etc.
