Sara | 860 comments I will. I'm a bit behind in the series but my sister gives me enough spoilers that I shouldn't have any problem with it.

Depending on when you read it I would be interested.

I requested the audio download from my library, I just got notice that I have it for the next week. If you read after that I will have already listened as my time will have run out.

message 204: by Angie (new)

Angie | 419 comments I'm in the middle of a book now, then I'm going to listen to Twice Tempted before I dive into Up from the Grave. So I figure I'll be ready tomorrow if I ever get started today.

Lisarenee | 2046 comments This one is the last book of the series so I hope she ends it with a bang.

message 210: by Angie (new)

Angie | 419 comments I'm just a few pages away from ending A Bite Before Christmas, which I decided would be a better refresher than Twice Tempted, and then I'll be starting on Up From the Grave! Somewhere within twenty pages or so on my kindle from the end. So if is keep my eyes off of Bones on the TV, I could be done and started on Up with in well less than an hour.

I have never listened to this series on audio. I will check it out thanks for the reminder

The narrator is the same one for the Stephanie Plum series and the Charly Davidson series. She does a good job, but not quite how I envisioned Mercy talking.

I just listened to a sample - yeah not a fan of her voice

I think the voice is right for the other series, but not really for Mercy. But I love the books and like to re-read by audio, so I'm stuck with it.

I agree she does not sound at all like Mercy. You know I am not sure who I would pick to be a reader for her..maybe the woman who reads for the Skinwalker series by Faith Hunter.

Not sure though I can fully admit I am overly picky with a narrator.

I don't know either, but it shouldn't be someone with such a girly voice and flip.

message 226: by Dawn, Desperately seeking new worlds (new)

Dawn (dawnv) | 4058 comments I have always kind of pictured her like Jana Moshe (I think that is how you spell it) very beautiful yet not quite girly but still feminine

message 227: by Lauren (new)

Lauren (laurenjberman) I'd love to join in the BR of Night Broken (Mercy Thompson, #8) by Patricia Briggs . It does look like I'm the only one who enjoys Lorelei King's narration of the series although Khristine Hvam (Jane Yellowrock) is also fantastic and I actually prefer her voice to King's.

Any Dory Basarab/Cassie Palmer fans want to do a buddy read of Masks (Cassandra Palmer, #4.3) by Karen Chance when it comes out on March 18th?

Sorry, I cooked my mom a belated Thanksgiving meal yesterday with all the trimmings because that was her one request when she got out. She couldn't eat when either holiday came so she said she wanted a belated one for when she got home. Yesterday was the day. She was too week to do it herself so I went to her house around 10 AM and left after doing the dishes around 11 PM. She said it was the nicest present I could have given her. She helped out as much as she could which mainly ended up being peeling the potatoes. She said should could tell she'd lost muscles in her arms because she had a dull pain streaking up her arms just from doing that. 2 1/2 months of being on your back really takes a toll on a body.

So Since Masks is coming out Tuesday I'm up for a buddy read. I'll set up the post.

We could do Better Off dead on Friday and Witches of East End the following Wednesday?

So
March 18th - Masks
March 21st - Better off Dead
March 26th - Witches of East End?

Sara | 860 comments That was a very sweet present for your mom! All the dates work for me.

She was so funny when she couldn't eat. She'd watch the cooking channel and dream up menus for when she could eat again. I was totally nervous that something was permanently wrong with her. If she would have asked for something totally outrageous, I would have gotten it for her. Such a scary time and we had to celebrate it being over.

message 243: by Lisarenee (new)

Lisarenee | 2046 comments Since I couldn't nominate it for BOM is anyone interested in reading Written in Red (The Others, #1) by Anne Bishop and Murder of Crows (The Others, #2) by Anne Bishop ?

message 244: by Sara (new)

Sara | 860 comments I will - I have both books and I need the motivation to start. I've heard very good things about the series.

I don't know that I would skip books in this series. So many times there are little things hinted that don't play out for books.

message 248: by Sara (new)

Sara | 860 comments Anyone up for a buddy read for the following May releases:

The Crimson Campaign (The Powder Mage, #2) by Brian McClellan The Unforgiven (League of the Black Swan, #2) by Alyssa Day Sparrow Hill Road (Ghost Stories, #1) by Seanan McGuire Skin Game by Jim Butcher Banishing the Dark (Arcadia Bell, #4) by Jenn Bennett
