Hmmmmmm... but then again it is taking a while with those videos, I wonder if the mischievous Mr. Elf has gotten sidetracked with other videos with a difernet kind of sound track to them.
erm... so I may have just had our team declare war on all the others in the something to talk about thread. All in a bit of fun, but just thought you all should know in case someone stops by with a threat. We were first this week, we WILL do it again next week!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Did I hear something about some ladies getting into a mud fight, or jelly slinging war? Or was that just wishful thiking?

Ok, so I've spent an hour and a half searching for books I have on hand to give me the most points for the potential songs listed. I'm good for most of them , but there are two that I can only link pretty weakly. Going to stop looking now and just wait for a song to be called.
I have no books from 1974, however, I asked the mods if a graveyard could be a field of stone and the answer is yes. So you could use this as a setting instead of the publication year for the song - if it gets called that is:0)
Thanks Ab2yHere's this week's song:
Week 2 - ♬ Laid by James (1993)
POSSIBLE LINKS
Lyrics: Click here
Video: You Tube clip
Shelf: Obsessed Hero
Word: No bonus word this week.
OK, I have three possibilities:
will give me 7 points. James is the author's name (5 points) and there is a bed on the cover, which links to the lyrics (2 points).
will give me 6 points for setting (published in 1993). It is about a serial killer and a policeman which could link to the handcuffs in the video if the mods OK it. In that case, this would give me 9 points.
will also give me 6 points for publication year and a possible 3 points for a character who dresses up in women's clothes (links to the lyrics) for a total of 9 points. Waiting for the mods and will decide then.
Gah! of course it is the one that I didn't have a link to!!!!!!!!!! I'll be off searching for a book. Eloisa James was my first choice, but I don't have the next book in the series on hand.
I'm going to read
Obsessed by Susan Anderson
Setting - pub in 1993 - 6 pts
Plot - stalking - 3 pts
Cover - knife in lyrics and video - 2 pts
Possibly more depending on answers from mods.
OK. After all the discussion in the help thread, I am going with:
by Anne StuartCross dressing plot (3 points)
Character's 2nd name is James (5 points)
Published in 1993 (6 points)
Total 14 points
Still waiting for someone to verify if. New house and bed count for places and that it is ok to do a reread. I started relistening to twilight just in case. It is 9 points without the link to place. Could be 15.

Review : I liked this book , it was funny , the heroine (Kate) remained me a lot of Sandra Bullock in the proposal ; she's a lovely , funny , tough girl in a she-devil disguise .
Jake on the other hand was (let's say i didn't like him) he's absolutely the anti-book boyfriend . The little accidents that happened to Kate was hilarious .
Cover = 2 points
1993 = 6 points
= 8 points
Ok well the rules stated:Name= 5 points - (First or last name of author, artist or character matches)
But CaroB just posted the villian doesn't count for a character match. Since James was my villan that only puts my book at 4 points. I think I can do better. Off to look again. So jealous that Ab2y is already done.
Ok downloaded
. I hate reading out of order but I was low on options if I want to get it read today.
If anyone is still having trouble finding a book, Present Danger by Susan Andersen seems to be a good one for this challenge. I'd hunt it down if I weren't already done with the one I chose earlier.

Book: Obsessed - Susan Andersen
Finished: 01/11/13

Review: In one word, meh. Sub-par romantic suspense. Main characters are a female doctor who is being stalked by a serial rapist and the cop who is hunting the rapist. The doc and cop meet and BAM! - instant attraction/passion/lust. Stuff happens, they fall in love, bad stuff happens, bad stuff gets resolved, HEA. All in all, not bad for a book I picked up for $.25.
Total Points: 11
Cover: knife in lyrics and video - 2 pts
Plot: stalking/obsessing - 3 pts
Setting: published in 1993 - 6 pts
Don't worry about reading Eloisa James's series out of order Dawn. None of the books are connected. The only thing they have in common is that all the stories are based on Fairytales.
Darn you Femmes and your quick reading!! I think you guys should be team captains next time and divide the power LOL! ;-)
Week 2: ♬ Laid by James (1993)
Book: Shadow Dance by Anne Stuart
Finished: January 12th
Rating: ★★★1/2
Review: Cute romance revolving around two couples. The first couple (Phelan and Juliette) are far more interesting than the second (Val and Sophie) whose romance is less detailed and shorter.
The villain is a true scumbag and I was disappointed that although he got his just desserts it was very anti-climactic.
Total points: 14
Plot: Cross dressing plot (3 points)
Artist: Character's 2nd name is James (5 points)

Week 2: ♬ Laid by James (1993)
Book: The Duke Is Mine by Eloisa James
Finished: Jan 12, 2013
Rating: ★★★★
Review: I completly enjoyed this version of the princess and the pea, even though it was not the typical version. The stacked mattresses wern't the test, however there were plenty of them. But the mattress was there to save the day none the less. The main characters became a bit obsessed with each other a little to early on considering one was betrohed and the other was not willing to take anothers wife. It didn't take them long to give that up though.
Total Points: 10
Name: Authors name is James (5 points)
Cover: Bed on cover links to lyrics (2 points)
Plot: The hero becomes obsessed with the heroine at first sight. Thier relationship is hot and cold because they can not control them selves around eachother, but know they shouldn't be together.

So what happens if we have someone who doesn't show for the week? Hopefully that won't happen, but I'm just curious.
Hey Dani, I know the name will be worth 5 points but be sure to let us know if the plot matches any of the song points:Bed on fire
Obsessive relationship
fighting with kitchen knives
a man in womens clothing
a move to a new house
seeing a therapist
Question to the mods.
Any chance the stain on the cover will link to the video where they are doing laundry which removes the stains?
Any chance this will link to the video with clothes hanging on the line?
Dawn - the shorts on the line have merit as a link to the video with the clothes hanging in the background, but the stain is too much of a stretch. A stain could be on a wall, a rug, your hands etc, it's not an automatic link to laundry.
CaroB wrote: "Dawn - the shorts on the line have merit as a link to the video with the clothes hanging in the background, but the stain is too much of a stretch. A stain could be on a wall, a rug, your hands etc..."Thanks CaroB. A Girls gotta try. I knew it was a long shot with the stain.
Ab2y can you please to update your post to add 2 points for cover linking to the video.
Monday update. I've been stalking the other teams. At this point I am not sure we are going to get the top points this week. A lot of others have been reading a 14 point book. It hasn't gotten very good reviews though. Some of them are getting close to all being done too. Hopefully Dani gets some good reading time in today and we can get the most for our team points and we wont be too far behind the lead.
