Hi, all. I've been a member of Bookcrossing since 2003, as Pashmack. Haven't been active there lately, but still release books now and then. Thought I'd drop in to say hello and see what goes on here :-)

I'm new in this group as well, have been in Goodreads for a while now but haven't been very active at BC since the Amsterdam gathering... My screen name is the same there.

Hey, nice to see somewhat familiar names, welcome all. :)Debbie, I read Crossing Paths a while back - that was a brilliant idea for a book by the way.
I'm aetm in bookcrossing, and seems I'm more doing goodreads these days than BC. A part of the reason is that there isn't anything local happening here, so either I release stuff randomly... or release to friend with similar taste etc. I'm into procedurals, crime, thrillers, and (non-cozy and more action-y) mysteries from around the world, the more exotic the better. I wish the US postage rates to around the world were way cheaper.... but if anyone has a similar taste to books like mine, and the books I've rated are with "bookcrossing" label, they may be open :) at least ask. I'd love to get some more books to travel at least in the US (budget permitting). Especially if you have something that might be interesting for a swap, even better...
Thanks Anna. Yes the postage has gone up in Australia too and I am more often on GR than BC. I have thought started releasing books again as I am gradually cleaning out my garage. Moving some books into my house and releasing others. It's is very hot here and supposed to be sweltering tomorrow!

Haha, this is hilarious! I have been a bookcrosser and on goodreads but never thought to find the bookcrosser group until another bookcrosser friended me. Now I'm finding people in my bookrings. So cool!

Hey guys!I recieved an "Authors copy" recently of my first novel. It's all about travel...so I found it only fitting to release it out into the world to do its own travels. Think i will release it in Vietnam.

Well, I'm actively maintaining an OBCZ at a local smoothie shop, but I'm struggling to find books with which to stock it.I've never participated in the forums at BC - I find the format much too confusing.

if you care to peek in to the OBCZ forum over on the BC site there are sometimes people offering to send OBCZ's books for the OBCZ shelves...
If I hadn't just sent off most of my available books to an OBCZ little ffree library I would offer to send some books your way myself:)
Over here in Oz our local libraries sell books for 50c and a $1. I often get a few to release at my OBCZs. It does slow you down when you can't lay on your hands to release.

Hello all! Just re-found BC and this time I signed up and have begun cleaning out some books I WAS going to donate to Goodwill. Instead they are now spread over much of Maine and Boston :) South Station is my favourite drop spot. Hopefully people will enjoy them and actually let me know they found a good home!
Yay - good for you. Odds are they won't get journaled, but odds are that folks are enjoying them anyway. :)

Well, maybe someone on this list will find and journal them anyways. If anyone here is from Boston, I like hiding books in weird places in South Station, just to see if they are still there when I come through next time. It's like an Easter Egg hunt! :)
