Introductions
Hello :)I've just rediscovered Goodreads due ot a new mobile phone. I live in the west and am having a snow day. The Snow Child is a rather beautiful read - very apt for today too.
Hi, I'm another Emma from Mumsnet. Been on Goodreads for ages, but only just discovered Mumsnet!I love books and enjoy reading what other people think of books I've read, and getting new ideas. I've decided I'm too old to waste time on junk, so these days I only read chick lit when I have flu (which I am too busy to get!)
Hi, I'm Rachel and live in Dorset. I also found this group on MN. I have ordered Snow Child and I am looking forward to reading it.

Hi, I'm Paul, also in Dorset. Bit of a theme going here!
I read prolifically, have pledged to go for 185 books this year, and read 9 so far.
Feel free to add me as a friend

I've added you as a friend :)
Hi, I'm Fiona and I'm from Scotland. I love to read, all things from chick lit to fantasy, but don't get through as many books now as I have a 4 month old who takes up a lot of time and attention! I've never been a member of a book club, but always wished I had time to join one.
Hi Guys!I'm Kelly, originally from Wisconsin, but now living in the Midlands of England. I've got two children under 4 and not enough time in the day to do all the reading I would like! Nevertheless, I did just finish reading this month's book and really enjoyed the fact I actually finished it before I forgot what it was about as I usually take so long to read a book that I have to re-read it again! Joining a book club is a first for me, but so far I like it.
Hi I'm Joc and I live in Yorkshire. Coincidentally finished the Snow Child today so joining seems fated, looking forward to the discussion. I have diverse taste in my reading. As long as something is well written I would like to read it. So I am looking forward to sharing your ideas.
Welcome to the group Jocelyn. We have already started to discuss The Snow Child on the thread marked Spoilers. Some good discussions and interesting thoughts arising so far.
Hi, Sophie also from Dorset and know one of you (not mentioning any names) Love reading, have two books on the go at all times, one book book and one on the kindle, I am not allowed to take my kindle into my place of work hence the book book, and also not overly in love with the kindle. Not sure of I will be able to read the snow child but will try and join in next month.
Hello, another one from MN here (hence the weird username ;) I might change it as everyone else seems to be under their real names!)The 50 book challenge on MN has got me back reading again. Last couple of years I've spent a LOT of my spare time just faffing about online, not actually doing anything. But I've now had a kick up the bum to read again and have about 8 books under my belt already. :D
Hi'ya, I'm Heidi - originally from Wales but currently living in the US. I also found this group via MN.
Hello everyone! I'm Helen, have come here via the reading challenge thread on MN :)I come from London, but live in Germany
I used to read a lot, then it sort of dwindled a bit in the last few year, but I've set myself a goal of 50 books this year. I'm looking forward to getting good tips on what new authors to try, and sharing the whole reading experience :)
I got a Kindle Fire for Christmas, and despite saying I would never actually use it, I've been converted by the ease of downloading cheap books from amazon and have been reading like fiend since December.
Hi everyone. I'm Helen, too, from north Derbyshire. I love reading, particularly psychological thrillers, mysteries and literary fiction. Currently I'm reading J.K. Rowling's The Casual Vacancy (which is proving quite slow and disappointing and not helping towards my goal of 30 books this year). Please feel free to recommend books for me and add me as a friend.
Hello - I'm Lou, I live near Manchester, I'm not a member of a book club but I read loads and would like to be....by coincidence I'm reading your January book a the moment (The Snow child) so I'm keen to hear what everyone's making of it.
Greetings from Kim (living in Dunedin, FL, USA)! I've been a lifelong reader, but more avid about it the past couple of years.I joined a local book club two years ago and would now like to try an on-line club to meet new people and get some other book/author recommendations. I read real books, e-books and listen to audio books in the car since my commute is long to/from work.
I set a goal of 75 books to read this year (last year was a bit much with 120) and look forward to reading and sharing with the group. Feel free to add me as a friend. Thanks, y'all!

Hi my name is Lou and I live in Ramsbottom in the North west of England. I am on a mission to get back into reading as I ve always loved it but being busy with my three under sixes keeps me away from books! But for 2013 I m hoping to read 50 (!) novels. I ve borrowed The Snow Child from the library and am raring to go.....
Hi I'm Kirsty. I'm another MN lurker. Pre children I used to read a lot but have got out of the habit and I really want to get back into reading again. I love the idea of a book group - can I join you?
