Hi - I'm Moore, I've been lurking on MN for a while, picking up recommendations of things to read. I'm already loving the posts and views on here. I've had a revelation recently as DH gave me a kindle - I reckon I just might be able to make the 50 book challenge! Just finished the Snow Child, which I would never have read but for the threads on here. Looking forward to more revelations !
Hello, I'm Leeann. Full time working, mom of two boys from eastern Canada. Time to read is always a struggle, but I try, as I enjoy it so much. I'm really interested in trying to read your monthly selections and join your discussions. So, I hope you don't mind if I jump right in :)
Hello I also found you via MN and had a copy of The Snow Child ready to read! I used to get through books at a rate of knots but now I have 2 little ones it's not so easy! Hoping to read more this year and looking forward to Feb's book.

HelloI have been lurking for a bit, but thought I ought to say hello properly! I'm a lifelong reader from Brighton, and am currently reading Canada by Richard Ford (love his stuff) and Animal, vegetable miracle by Barbara Kingsolver, about growing your own food and sourcing it locally. An impossible dream for me but it's something to aim at!
I belong to a reading group at my local public library and we are reading Christopher Isherwood's Goodbye to Berlin. I'm trying to get to 55 books this year - I did it last year but am already lagging behind so far!
I read the Snow Child last year and thought it was one of the best books I'd read all year.
Welcome to the group Claire!I like the sound of the Barbara Kingsolver book. We used to have an allotment before we moved house. The plan then was to grow as much of our own stuff as possible. A great idea, but we kept losing the battle with the veg-munching insects and mice that lived there! We're braving ourselves for another shot at it this year!!
Ay up!I'm Kelly, and I joined the Vipers to get some book recommendations and take part in some discussions - I find the Adult Fiction part of Mumsnet a bit quiet!
I am currently on maternity leave with my second son. I am doing a bit more reading as I am reading during the night feeds in an attempt to stay awake!
Have already read Harold Fry so am looking forward to taking part on that thread. Currently reading Pride and Prejudice for the first time
I like the sound of the Barbara Kingsolver book. We have done our own lamb and pigs and the veggies are coming this year.
I'm Amabel (yes, Mabel with an 'A'; I have literary form); Mum to a daughter (4), a son (7 3/4) and wife to a vicar (more Joanna than Anthony Trollope);
Would almost always 'rather be reading';
Loves a pot of tea and good book in the evening, but too easily distracted by 't'interweb';
Will read almost anything, a reformed literary snob;
Blogger (bookwormmum.wordpress.com) about my year-long challenge to read different genres each month(into second year);
Rubbish housewife;
Occasional writer.
Hello!
Welcome to the group Amabel.I'm not sure if there's a way to link your blog to the group's home page but, if there is, feel free to do so.
Maggie wrote: "Hello everyone. I'm Maggie and I live in north west Cumbria. I am a self-confessed bookaholic and I particularly like contemporary fiction. I have just finished reading The Unlikely Pilgrimage o..."Welcome to the group Maggie. I'm completely in awe of your challenge. I watched Julia Bradbury's programmes where she attempted Wainwright's walks, and some of them were really tough going (I just about struggled to get to the top of Snowdon pre-children :D).
A good friend of ours has Parkinsons too. He's over 80 now and has had it for about 8 years. He's just had to give up driving.
Hi im Clare, im from Ireland but live in Brunei, I love reading and am happy to be connected with others who feel the same!!!!

Hi, I'm Peach and I am in southwest Montana. I am a serious book addict and love a good discussion. My reading tastes cover just about everything depending on mood. When I'm not reading, I'm writing and I'm looking forward to the group.
Hi, I'm Clare - I discovered the MN bookclub a few weeks ago - it's nice to see what books others are enjoying. I have 2 children (4 and 6) and until last year haven't been reading much at all - but last year I met my personal challenge of reading one book a month - this year I hope to double that!
Hi, my name is Jo, I'm a busy mum of 1 demanding toddler, 2 if you include the dog he he. Thought I'd better increase my reading range now I'm supposed to be an adult setting an example. Likely to be a lurker on here but looking forward to everyones recommendations :-)
Hello, I'm Rebecca and I've just joined (thanks, Elizabeth). I live in London and I'm a single working mum with one son heading for secondary in September. The brilliant thing about working is that I have two hours commuting time a day which is my reading time and makes it all worthwhile. I get through about 45 books a year though it used to be up in the 60s Before Child. Absolutely loving adding all my books to my goodreads list - they even had my much adored (when aged 10), Misty, Stormy's Foal (have moved on a little in reading tastes since then, I promise).
Welcome to the group Jo and Rebecca :DWe don't mind lurkers, Jo, honest!! But we'd love to hear your recommendations too.
Hi I'm Claire, I joined last week and lurked a bit but thought I'd best say hello, so hello! I've been looking for a bookgroup with interesting books and active discussions and love the look of your group. I can't wait to start the books and chat to everyone.
Hello Claire! Welcome to our group, we do have a wide variety of monthly reads on the go, hopefully something for everyone!
Hi I'm Sarah, I mostly read literary & contemporary fiction. I'm a terrible book hoarder. I astonished myself by getting through 52 books last year and am hoping to manage the same this year. I liked the look of your challenge as the worst thing about having so many books in the house is I can never decide what to read next!
Welcome to the group Val. I live in Dorset and a few others on here do too!Look forward to chatting to you about books. Hope you'll have a go at one of our challenges, or join in a group read.
