Welcome to the group Nicola :). I'm Elizabeth - one of the moderators. I'm married and we have two budding bookworm children(!). We live in South West England.
hello Vipers! I just joined (thanks Jen). I'm Kate, am also in the North East, and I am a life long bookworm.
Hi everyone! I'm Bobbi Jo, and it's nice to meet everyone. I live in Pennsylvania in the USA. I can't wait to peruse this group when I get a free moment.
Hi there everyone, my name is Kathryn, am looking forward to joining in, have always wanted to be part of a book club but hasn't happened until now.Am a book lover and not fussy, will give pretty much anything a try!

Hello all, My name is Stacia, I live in the South East of England and am a life long bookworm also, although a frustrated one at the moment as I just can't ever seem to find the time to read as much as I'd like!
Welcome Jen and Simone. Look forward to chatting about books with you. Our group read for January is The Snow Child by Eowyn Ivey if you'd like to join us for that :)
Jennifer wrote: "Im Jen, feel free to add me as a friend. Im in NE Scotland."I've added you as a friend :)
Hi I'm Lisa and have been lurking for a while, and mainly a lurker on MN too. Am totally bookish but a small child means very little time to read so it's my resolution to crack on with more this year! Have downloaded the Snow Child to join in...
Hi I am Zehra and I live in London. I love reading, but I have three young children and am currently in the second year of a history degree so whilst I read loads it isn't always fiction or even whole books. I belong to a rl book club too and we have two books this month so I probably won't be able to do this month's book'. Hello all.
Welcome to the group Zehra. Don't worry about doing the group read this month, just join in when you have time. I've got two young children and find that restricts my reading time quite a lot! And you're doing a degree too!!!
Hello all, I'm Louise. I'm an avid reader but like many of you struggle to squeeze it in. I live in Toulouse in SW France where I've been for the last 4 years. I'm originally from Yorkshire though haven't lived there for many many years. I have two children, 5 and 7.
Hi to all that have joined since I last commented on here ( quite a few!).I've add those would said they wouldn't mind requests as I'm starting to see the reason behind friends on here.
Happy to accept vise versa also!
Hi, I'm Jo. I'm a teacher, have 2 children (both of whom are just as much bookworms as I am) and lurk quite a bit on the book sections of MN to get recommendations. I have the Snow Child downloaded at the ready.
Welcome to the group Joanne. Looking forward to the Snow Child discussion - quite a lot of us are reading it :)
Hi, I'm Belinda and originally from the UK but now living in Austria. I love the idea of a virtual book club as there are no RL reading groups near me AFAIK.

It's not too late to join in with this month's group read, The Snow Child by Eowyn Ivey, if you want to, or nominate a book for next month's group read. Or take a look at some of the challenges, or just join in the chat in general about books. Look forward to chatting with you about books.
Thanks Elizabeth! I'm thinking about joining in with this month's read, so am looking for somewhere where I can buy The Snow Child fairly cheaply (and wishing I had a Kindle!) but it doesn't seem to be available anywhere for much under €9.
Hi everyone, I'm Mandy, I live in Scotland and can't think of anything more satisfying than getting into a good book these days (that's mother to a toddler for you). I'm in a RL book group but always looking for recommendations. Also looking to challenge myself this year with a book a week. Last year I did 30-ish so going for gold in 2013. Be nice to hear everyone's views on things, our book group is a great meeting point but there's been a lukewarm response to so many of the more 'literary' choices, so far!
Welcome to the group Mandy! We've only recently decided to have a monthly group read, so we would welcome all suggestions. This month's read is The Snow Child and it's not too late to join in.
Next month's group read thread is open for all suggested books too.

You can get the kindle app for free on a phone, laptop, tablet, I phone. I have the app on my phone and laptop as well as my kindle.
I do have a smartphone, but just can't imagine reading a book on it somehow. At any rate, I've taken the plunge and have just forked out €10 for the book on Amazon (and the Kindle price has now gone up from €2 to €6, so I'm not regretting not having a Kindle quite as much today - although I'm still thinking about it!).
