Hmmm . . . I'm tied between Marissa Meyer and Veronica Roth.
Book with a terrible beginning?
Book with a terrible beginning?

It can be both. Many who are aiming to self-publish only, don't tend to spend the time editing as carefully as someone who is working with an editor with the goal of heading to a publisher. The plots sometimes don't end up as well developed as they potentially could have been. I have read some self-published work that was "not half bad" that could have been "excellent" with one more revision or an editor's red pen.

Most disturbing book you've read?

I didn't think it was confusing. I would recommend it. It's pretty unique too.

Does reading inspire you to write?

Have you ever lost your will to read? I think the term is book funk?

What are the one book and one series you would read again for the first time?

JRR Tolkien
GRR Martin
CS Lewis
Megan Whalen Turner
Jane Austin
Cornelia Funke
Sylvia Plath
Veronica Roth
Sarah Maas
Rae Carson
OK...nope I can't get them all in...but if I had to pick ONE only under duress and/or pain of death, it would probably be CS Lewis.
