This one took a while for me to really get into it. Hoping that it was building story for the next book otherwise...bummer!! That being said this author has a way with the one liners ~ just hilarious at times. It was nice to have the story with her immediate family develop a little more.

Eyes p 236 I closed my eyes and whispered softly, unable to hear myself over the gunfire.
Rain p 276 I stood a long moment, blinking against the rain pelting my face....
Hood p237 "What the hell was that for?" he asked, lowering his hood to reveal his perfect face.
Cake I would just have to counteract it later with a piece of cake.

This book took a bit to get started, but got a lot better after the first couple chapters. It had so many twist, it keeps you guessing on if they stay together. It's a very happy ending. Loved it by the end.

Review:I completly enjoyed this version of the princess and the pea, even though it was not the typical version. The stacked mattresses wern't the test, however there were plenty of them. But the mattress was there to save the day none the less. The main characters became a bit obsessed with each other a little to early on considering one was betrohed and the other was not willing to take anothers wife. It didn't take them long to give that up though

First in the series of a girl who talks with spirits and helps them crossover ~ she is a world-renowned psychic investigator dedicated to helping lost spirits find peace.("I see dead people" - sorry I couldn't resist the movie reference☺ ) LaRue owns a bookstore in a small town when a new man in town opens a coffee shop next to her. She is smitten but so is the mean crazy b%tch of the town who owns the clothing shop across the street. Was pretty funny at times but slow and redundant at others. I may continue with the series.

Julian of Macedonia was an ancient general who lived to thwart Rome. Until he meets Grace. She doesn't treat him like a nameless sex object, she treats him like a man. She finds his wounded heartthat has suffered untold centuries of torment and sorrow and brings light back into it. Throw in a few Greek gods, some for Julian, some against, cast of memorable secondary characters and a love story larger than life, and you have a fun, fab mix that is guaranteed to win over every reader's heart.

This book was romantic, beautiful, sweet, funny, touching and at times broke my heart for what Julian had to endure in his past life. It kept me turning the pages way into the night. Sherrilyn Kenyon has combined Greek mythology with fiction to create a most enjoyable book. I loved the way the Ancient Greek history was intertwined with the present day of New Orleans.
