My sisters been trying to get me to read this book. I know your not supposed to judge a book by its cover, but I'm having a hard time not with this one. Just doesn't look like a good book to me...

Can't wait for Laura Frantz new one!!!

message 355: by Beth (new)

Beth (bbulow) It's hard to not pass a judgement on a book cover, at least for me. Unattractive book covers won't keep me from reading a book, but it is a shame when a good book has a bad cover.

One of my all-time faves is like that, at least to me: The Frontiersman's Daughter by Laura Frantz

I think it looks so cheesy & the book is so not cheesy! :)

On Sushi for One, the lady just looks a bit awkward...I'm not sure who stands with their hand on their neck like that, haha.

Me neither! I am such a fan of hers (as you can see from my other post, haha). Her books are the ones that I will pre-order no matter what :) The other two were sort of impulse buys, although I do really like Tessa Afshar's books.

message 357: by Salyna (new)

Salyna | 392 comments Haha, that's true. I haven't read that one by Luara Frantz yet but I really want too. The covers not to bad...

I think I've only read two books by Frantz so far, but I really liked both of them! My top fav authors right now are Deeanne Gist, Lisa Tawn Bergren, Karen Witemeyer, and Julie Lessman. Read any of them?

message 360: by Salyna (new)

Salyna | 392 comments Beth wrote: "It's very good! :)"

I think I've tried getting it from the library before but they didn't have it.:(

message 361: by Beth (new)

Beth (bbulow) Yes, I've read all of them! Not literally ALL of their books though :)

Gist, I've read most of hers. Bergren I read & loved the River of Time series & Glamorous Illusions. Witemeyer, I've read Short-Straw Bride & A Tailor-Made Bride. I liked Short-Straw Bride the best. I've only read A Passion Most Pure, which I enjoyed but also had "beef" with, haha. I have the second one but haven't
gotten to it yet.

I really like Siri Mitchell's books, as well as Liz Curtis Higgs historicals.

message 362: by Salyna (new)

Salyna | 392 comments I have read all of Deeannes books. I have also read the River of Time, Glamorous Illusions and also Grave Consequences by Lisa. I have read all Karen's books except Head in the Clouds. I have read A Passion Most Pure by Julie which I loved as well as the rest of the series. I am planning on reading her Winds of Change series real soon:)

I havn't read either of those authors yet, but some of Siri's books are in my to-read folder.

message 363: by Beth (new)

Beth (bbulow) I really want to read Head in the Clouds! I have To Win Her Heart on Kindle, did you like that one?
