Really that's so neat.I bought a signed book by one of my favorite authors last year and hope to meet some of my favorite authors someday and get my copies signed. What books did you get?

where do you buy most of your books Alice? What websites do you use?I am always looking for more book sites to order form.

I bought Scarlet (Lunar Chronicles, #2) by Marissa Meyer and I am so happy to finally have this the cliffhanger on one was killing me.

Kim-Lost-In-A-Book At the used bookstore today I traded in 4 books and got 4 "new" ones.

3 are for my middle daughter - Labyrinth (Languedoc, #1) by Kate Mosse , A Heroine of the World by Tanith Lee , and Black Unicorn by Tanith Lee .

For myself I got Needful Things by Stephen King . I've never read a Stephen King book, and I loved this movie so I figured I'd give the book a shot.

Kim-Lost-In-A-Book That's awesome Carol. I absolutely LOVED The Red Tent, it's one of my all time favorite books. Enjoy!

I have a signed book - American Prince: A Memoir by one of my all time favorite actors (and childhood crushes), Tony Curtis - he signed it for me in person, that day is a treasured memory of mine ♥

Kim-Lost-In-A-Book Oh Carol - let me know how "My Heart is an Idiot" is please, I've seen that book before and it's piqued my interest.

What a great store! The staff and the overhead store radio only speak Spanish, so I think that's why I find such good deals on books in english.

So does one of my friends, who is the one who recommended it to me! Oooo, but while I was putting my new books in my book shelves, I did something that made me mad. I was putting Beware, Princess Elizabeth between Patience, Princess Catherine and Salem Witch, and the back cover of BPP caught on SW's front cover cut-out and I heard riiiiiiiip! Ooooo, it took a 1" by 1" chunk out of the back cover, and I was soooo mad! I taped it back, but OOOOOOOOOH! I try to take good care of my books! Dx

Oh, I miss Savers so much! We had one in Little Rock...I especially loved 99-cent day. They're so much nicer than Goodwill or Salvation Army! That's where I used to get a lot of used CDs and most of my clothes (along with T.J.Maxx). Now I have to wait for a 30% off coupon at Kohl's...

message 341: by Hannah (new)

Hannah (bookwormhannah) | 215 comments I got to go to Half Price Books while in TX last week. I made a haul of old hardcovers and enjoyed using a 15% off coupon...
"Lonesome Land" by B. M. Bower

"The Second Generation" by David Graham Phillips
"The Law-Breakers" by Ridgwell Cullum
"The Girl of La Glorieta" by Clara Driscoll
"The Gun-Brand" by James B. Hendryx
"The City of Comrades" by Basil King
"The Pride of Jennico" by Agnes and Egerton Castle

"The Grafters" by Francis Lynde
"The Gorilla Hunters" by R. M. Ballantyne (pretty shabby, but it's been so long since I found one of his that I got it anyway)
"The High Hand" by Jacques Futrelle
"Jennie Baxter--Journalist" by Robert Barr
"Mr. Opp" by Alice Hegan Rice
"Love-at-Arms" by Rafael Sabatini (so fun to find a Sabatini book I didn't already have!)
"The Trailers" by Ruth Little Mason
"The Danger Line" by Lawrence L. Lynch
"A Texas Blue Bonnet" by Caroline E. Jacobs
"Blue Bonnet in Boston" by Caroline E. Jacobs and Lela Horn Richards (beautiful dust jacket on this one)
"Bob Hampton of Placer" by Randall Parrish
"Three People" by Pansy (Mrs. G. R. Alden) (another nice dust jacket)
"The Hornet's Nest" by E.P. Roe
"Paul: a Herald of the Cross" by Florence M. Kingsley (this one was a very nice copy that had gotten messed up, so they marked it down to $1 for me)
"Me and Nobbles" by Amy le Feuvre (only the second book of hers I've ever been able to find)
"The Enchanted April" by Elizabeth von Arnim (very plain copy, but someone had hand-painted the cover...so cute!)
"The Admiral's Ward" by Mrs. Alexander (I have one of her books, but even Amazon has really high prices on them, so $5 was quite a deal)
"The Lost Prince" by Frances Hodgson Burnett
