I loved Dear Mr Darcy and The Tenant of Wildfell Hall. Anne Bronte is really very underated as an author.

message 824: by Anne (new)

Anne | 253 comments I hope to read both this year! I haven't read a JAFF in ages, and Tenant will be my next Bronte. I read Anne Bronte's Agnes Grey and really liked it :)

message 825: by Aerykah (new)

Aerykah | 2071 comments I have these from my library -- I had the fiction ones on hold & they all came in at once! :)

Anne | 253 comments Oooh! So many that I want to read too! I hope you enjoy them all :D

message 827: by Aerykah (new)

Aerykah | 2071 comments Thanks, Anne! I was super excited when the first one came in! And they just kept coming! ;D I just hope I get to read them all before my time runs out..... ;)

message 828: by Anne (new)

Anne | 253 comments Hahaha, that's great! My holds usually come in slowly, one after the other ;) Does your library let you renew books twice provided no one put a hold on it?

message 829: by Aerykah (new)

Aerykah | 2071 comments Yes, they do! So as long as no one else wants it... I can keep a book for 6 weeks! :) Unfortunately, that's not usually the case with new books. :(

message 830: by Anne (new)

Anne | 253 comments Yes, very true, I imagine they must be very much in demand! How long do you have if someone wants it? Two or three weeks? Here we have 3 weeks, and up to 2 renewals, so you keep some books for quite a long time! Sometimes it's not good though, because I forget that it's due back!

message 831: by Aerykah (new)

Aerykah | 2071 comments Yeah, there's usually a fairly long wait list for the new books. I can only keep it for 2 weeks if someone else is wanting it. I'll admit I have actually put my mom's name on the wait list right behind mine before so that she can check it out for me if I don't finish it in time so I get an extra 2 weeks. My brothers say that's cheating. haha! ;P
We have 2-week loans with up to 2 renewals here.

message 832: by Anne (new)

Anne | 253 comments Oh my, I never thought of that! I don't think it's cheating, I think it's brilliant! Will have to do that too now hahaha ;)

message 833: by Aerykah (new)

Aerykah | 2071 comments Haha! Yes, one of my few moments of brilliance. More like I was just desperate to not have to give up my book right in the middle of reading it! Lol! ;)

message 835: by Hannah (new)

Hannah (bookwormhannah) | 215 comments Another trick I've pulled is returning a book I know I can't get to a few days early, so it gets back to me sooner!

message 837: by Anne (new)

Anne | 253 comments Good one too, Hannah! I'll really have to keep those in mind.

Aerykah | 2071 comments Within the past few days, my library has gotten all of these books in for me:
Thin Ice (Men of Valor #2) by Irene Hannon Whispers in the Reading Room (The Chicago World's Fair Mystery #3) by Shelley Gray Undercover Bride (Undercover Ladies #2) by Margaret Brownley Together with You by Victoria Bylin Beyond the Silence by Tracie Peterson
Why must they all come in at the same time?! I know I'm not gonna get them all read before I have to take them back.....
I've started Thin Ice already & I've got another book I'm supposed to start soon for a buddy read... *sigh* So many books, so little time.
