Katy (katyas-69) | 1731 comments Hey, very happy birthday, Jordan! Hope your day is as awesome as mine was!

9:22 p.m. EDT Just finished the 2nd Hannah Smith book by Randy Wayne White, and was disappointed. It's missing a lot of the humor and warmth that made me love the first one so much. I'm hoping it was just sophomore blues and the next will be better! Going to start the 2nd Intercrime book by Arne Dahl next!

No kidding. I cannot stand him. I think he comes across as a tit most of the time, but when he wins all of a sudden he's acts like the GOAT.

Katy (katyas-69) | 1731 comments 12:28 a.m. EDT Feeling sleepy, think it's time for a nap. tomorrow I'm back to editing. First to finish this Daniel Black book, and then a second pass on Scott Rhine's third book in his sci-fi story. Then I'll have another from Daniel Black and probably a flash fiction from Barbara G.Tarn, so a busy couple weeks. I'll probably be quiet so I can focus, but will check in at least once a day.

The vast majority of sports stars are pretty obnoxious people, it is no doubt because they are young people, with far to much money who never learned anything at school apart from how to kick/hit/throw a ball, or run fast!

True. But what gets me about Murray is he'll literally cry when he loses and carry himself the way he does when he wins. He's a textbook tit.

Thanks Katy, when I get home it will be his bedtime so I will have to settle for snuggling in his rocking chair and reading for awhile with him.

By the way you looked lovely in your picture for your birthday. I hope you had a wonderful night out. I usually prefer to cook something special for my birthday. I'm not one for going out much.

9:24PM Well we had cheeseburgers and mac salad for dinner. Eating up 4th of July leftovers, LOL. Had a good workout, needed it since family was here last week and I only did one work out. But then again we were out nearly everyday with a ton of walking. Had my shower, and now checking in here and catching up on reading. It seems so quiet now and I miss them being here, but I am getting along ok for now.

message 5375: by Katy (new)

Katy (katyas-69) | 1731 comments Thanks, Michelle. BTW, thanks for the nice compliment, Chris! Hope you made it home safely to your little one.

12:08 a.m. EDT didn't really sleep, but feel a bit more alive... The rain just started pouring down. It was hot and sunny most of the day, so I guess this just drove in from out of town. Just set up a blog post for Wednesday, but forgot to have the guest poster send me the pictures separately, so had to request she do that. It's about animal abuse and testing, though, and some of them are sort of graphic... *cringing* Well, I put up a warning, but if she doesn't have time to send them, well... I don't think it'll hurt my feelings any...

Andy Murray hysteria still grips the nation, heard for the first time 'Murray and possible future Pope' in the same sentence, the man isn't even Catholic.LOL

He is a Scot who just won Wimbledon, the first time in 75 years a Brit has won. So the main item on the news over here is not the coup in Egypt(where my brother is at present on holiday)but TENNIS.

Squire (srboone) | 141 comments I know, that's been on the news over here also. First time in 75 years...well, that's one miracle. Just need one more for canonization!

1:20PM Well so far I got almost 75 pages in, with many interruptions. LOL Oh well, what can I say. So I got further into Flowers in the Attic, I just switched back over to Stranger With my Face. Interesting plot, but a little slow.

2:41 p.m. and I just got home. So much for having a grandbaby today! Err! Doctors! They have now decided after going through all this stuff that she is starting to show signs of going into labor herself, so they send her home and tell her to give it another week. The funeral was sad. Lot of emotion. Also, it breaks by heart to see a daughter pass before her mother and father. They were heartbroken.

Doctors irk me Cindy, it seems half the time they don't even know what they are doing. I know when I had Kayla the doctor was going on vacation and wanted to induce me. I should never have agreed with it. Induction + Me= Disaster!

My heart goes out to this family Cindy. A very sad situation.

message 5389: by [deleted user] (new)

They seem to think you can take off work anytime you want Janie. Now, I get to explain this to my boss. They are so shorthanded at work that she's probably not gonna be too happy. What can you do? At least I got to stay for the whole service and visitation at the funeral.

message 5390: by Katy (new)

Katy (katyas-69) | 1731 comments I must have missed something, Cindy - I don't recall seeing anything about either things you mentioned. My heart goes out to the family losing a daughter. And sorry to hear about the further delay of your grandbaby! Yeah, doctors don't give a carp about anyone else's schedule. They'll keep you sitting there for HOURS and to hell with the fact that your boss is threatening to fire you if you miss any more work, you gotta be back NEXT month... GAH!

5:56 p.m. EDT short nap, but need to go back to work. I hurt so badly this week. Stupid pain clinic not giving me my meds... >:-[ Still, I have some fun stuff to edit; just need to focus in and I can ignore it for a little while. Not long enough, but it helps.

message 5391: by [deleted user] (new)

Sorry to hear you are in so much pain Katy :(

message 5392: by Chris (new)

Chris (cbrunner11) | 674 comments Sorry you are having a rough week Katy, I hope the editing helps take your mind from the suffering.

Cindy, I can understand your frustration. With our first child the Dr kept saying my wife would go any day so we were in the office every other day for check ups for two weeks. Finally my wife said she'd had enough and they broke her water and started the process. My daughter came very quickly and two and a half weeks early so it was really nice.

5:41 PM and I've hit a wall, I am struggling to stay awake. Stuck at work and desperately need coffee, energy drink, or soda to keep me from snoring at my station. I really hope this night goes by quickly.

message 5393: by Katy (new)

Katy (katyas-69) | 1731 comments Hope it goes quickly too, Chris. I used to work in a tech support department, and it was a cool job because we were away from the rest of the company, worked exclusively over the phone, and could do what we pleased as long as our work was done. I did a lot of web surfing in those days...

6:48 p.m. EDT about to start editing again. Whee.

message 5394: by Chris (new)

Chris (cbrunner11) | 674 comments I get to do what I please as long as I don't get caught not working on my stuff. So yes, I hang out here a lot, read books on the Kindle cloud reader, and watch television shows. I still work closely with customers and the staff is tough to deal with and I will leave it at that. Been web window shopping right now. So many things I would like so little money. Isn't that always the way it is.
