Chris (cbrunner11) | 674 comments 11:10PM and my wife and I are relaxing on the couch. Had a great date night. Went to see Man of Steel in 3D. We saw it in one of the movie suits where the wait on you and you sit in recliners. It is a lot of fun, but not something we would have done without having a gift card. It is pricey. Hope every one is doing well.

Sounds like quite a few of you have had great evenings so far.

12:16 a.m. and I plan to sit up late tonight reading. Even if I don't finish The Next Time You See Me tonight I want to start on Black House. Hope everyone had a fantastic day!

Katy (katyas-69) | 1731 comments Chris, my cousin and her fiancee just saw World War Z in 3-D tonight; guess it was movie night! LOL We can hardly ever afford to go see a movie in a theatre, which is why we were so excited to see Star Trek that time... Sounds like you had a great time!

1:21 a.m. EDT Almost done with all that e-mail, and then back to reading!

message 5054: by Chris (new)

Chris (cbrunner11) | 674 comments It is so expensive to see movies these days. I really wanted to see Star Trek in the theaters but couldn't. The last movie my wife and I saw I. Theaters before tonight was Dark Knight Rises. I feel out and have to see my favorite super heroes on the big screen.

message 5055: by Katy (new)

Katy (katyas-69) | 1731 comments Yeah, if someone else hadn't picked up those tickets, we wouldn't have been able to go!

1:45 a.m. EDT off to read, gonna have a fudgesicle, too!

message 5056: by Jordan (new)

Jordan (jords) | 277 comments Thanks guys! I guess all I've ever wanted was to be a teacher so I'm gonna persevere for now. I think I'm just being mega negative. Thanks for all of your support though, you're the best :)

message 5057: by Katy (new)

Katy (katyas-69) | 1731 comments Jordan, sometimes you just have to vent. this is a great group and if you ever need to rant, feel free to PM me as well, okay?

4:32 a.m. EDT Just taking a short break from reading to check my Kindle wishlist. Nothing free today, oh, well!

message 5058: by Jordan (new)

Jordan (jords) | 277 comments Thanks, Katy. I will

10:04am laying in bed watching a film, will probably go and see a friend later

Just watched TOWER HEIST I can honestly say that is the first Ben Stiller film I've actually watched.

Katy (katyas-69) | 1731 comments 9:11 a.m. EDT Probably need to sleep, trying to decide what to read next. Finally have NOS4A2 so that's calling me, but probably should read something for which I owe a review, or the book that is in the series before the book I'm editing on Monday... oh, dear, oh, dear...

9:11AM Very quiet this AM, Hub and Son both at work, Kay still asleep. About to make some eggs for breakfast. Will read some more of Black house. I keep waiting for it to get totally awesome. I gotta say it has been pretty painful to read so far.

Jordan glad you are gonna keep at it! I think that is awesome. We will always be here for you to vent on. So don't forget that.

Chris glad you had a good date night. And I agree it is expensive to go see a movie these days. We don't do that very often ourselves.

message 5062: by [deleted user] (new)

10:36 a.m. And I have a full day today. At laundry doing clothes then we are picking up some friends and going to the zoo. Haven't started Black House yet but I should have plenty of time at work tomorrow to read. After the zoo I have somewhere else to be at 7, so it will be a busy day.

Sean Brennan | 141 comments Chris wrote: "It is so expensive to see movies these days. I really wanted to see Star Trek in the theaters but couldn't. The last movie my wife and I saw I. message 5067: by [deleted user] (new)

Jordan, I agree with Janie. Don't give up unless you're absolutely sure. You seem so talented. Maybe this is just a dark passage to go through.

Chris, enjoy your date night! It's awesome!

12:57pm. Drinking coffee, hanging out with hub, and checking GR. Trying to decide what book to read out of 3 choices. Can't get focused. Happy weekend everyone!

Sean Brennan | 141 comments Just finished watching Manga High School of the Dead, there is something drastically amiss with the Japanese mentality with their depiction of school girls, I can understand having a bit of a breast fixation the Japanese not being the most overtly buxom race in the world, but what's with all the pantie shots!!

message 5069: by Jordan (new)

Jordan (jords) | 277 comments Thanks Terri, that's really sweet :) I'll definitely hang in there

message 5070: by Katy (new)

Katy (katyas-69) | 1731 comments Sean, a matinee usually costs about $5 or so, a full-price ticket is around $14 or so I think. Not sure exactly, as it's been a long time since I actually bought tickets and that was a matinee. Anyway, sounds roughly equivalent. Of course, it's the extras that'll kill ya - a drink and a snack, that sorta thing.

1:39 p.m. EDT Been trying to sleep since about 10 and just can't, no matter how tired I am. Too sleepy to really read, 'cause my eyes don't want to focus. Sort of a tricky situation... Thought I'd at least clear out e-mail once today so I am not spending 5 hours at it again tonight!

message 5071: by Chris (new)

Chris (cbrunner11) | 674 comments Sean the tickets are about the same here. 16$ or 19 for 3D. It's just that on my budget it is a stretch. A year or two ago tickets were only 10-12$ so it jumped quite a bit very quickly.

Katy (katyas-69) | 1731 comments 2:02 p.m. EDT So TIRED, dang it... want to SLEEP. Now I have to stay awake at least long enough to send hubby off to work, but I imagine I won't be able to sleep anyway... Oh, well! At least I've cleared out e-mail.

BTW, the neighbors who were revving their engines all the time have moved away. Last week sometime they just packed up most of their stuff and zoom. They've taken most of it now; dunno when they come in and clear stuff out and clean, but haven't seen them since the day before they left... Very weird.

1:59PM Needed a break from Black House, so I just finished The Langoliers in the Four Past Midnight collection. What a great story. It makes me think that King should not do too many 'duo' written novels. LOL Jusy had lunch, chicken wrap leftovers and watermelon. I am thinking salads for dinner, sounds good since hub does not get home till almost 4 salads would be convenient. Gonna try and get into Black house a bit more, what a struggle.

11:27 EDT. (Thanks, Katy, for pointing out it's Daylight Savings Time now. Totally went by me.) Eating grapes and trying to decide what book to take to bed to read. Really would love some chocolate but there's none in the house. Oh well. Good night GR!

11:02PM Still reading Black house. Had some honey Tea, hub is in bed, I think Kay fell asleep as well. Son not yet home from work. So it is pretty quiet right now, but I think I am done reading for the night.

message 5079: by Kathryn (new)

Kathryn (kcanty313) | 1870 comments 11:37 PM. Busy day today!!! Whew!! Got up, had breakfast, took Mark to get his haircut, went to Bass Pro Shop, stopped by Home Depot, then to Sonic for cold drinks, came home and had lunch, cleaned the garage, took a quick shower, went to Old Navy, returned a movie, went to auto parts store, came home, talked about dinner and watched the news, Mark went to the store, had dinner, and watched Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade. (Love IJ and Harrison Ford). Then, got ready for bed, where I am now, and I'm beat. I also looked at some haircuts for me since I get my haircut in two weeks. Have Gizzie girl with me in bed, and hope she stays with me most of the night. I sleep better when she's next to me and being cute. Goodnight, GR!!!!

Sounds like everyone had a good day!!! Missed you guys!!!

message 5080: by Katy (new)

Katy (katyas-69) | 1731 comments Oh, Janie, "Langoliers" is one of my favorite King shorts. It's just so creepy!!

4:06 a.m. EDT Finally fell asleep in the evening. Meant to finish the last few pages of my book before midnight, but just could not do it. I feel sort of crappy, so I don't know how much if any reading I will do today. Need to go and pick up some shoes for my outfit for the wedding next Saturday...

message 5081: by [deleted user] (new)

4:37am EDT. Up for the day, pain pills not working. For some reason I'm really dizzy and walking like a drunk. What a day you had Kathryn!! Makes me tired just to read about it! Hope you and Gizzie girl slept well. Hope you feel better, Katy, and good luck with the shoe shopping. I plan to make chicken stock today but we'll have to see how the dizziness goes. I'm getting a tooth pulled Tues so I need something soft to eat. Plan to make bread tomorrow (one of my favorite things to do). Off to make coffee and read. Good morning GR!

message 5082: by Katy (new)

Katy (katyas-69) | 1731 comments Terri, do you keep meclizine on hand? It's the active ingredient in Dramamine, and there is also a prescription brand, but you can pick it up without a prescription for much less. Just go to your pharmacy and ask for meclizine. I can usually pick up 100 25 mg pills for about $5. It works REALLY well for dizziness (I have benign positional vertigo, so I keep it on hand all the time). Sorry your pain meds aren't working :-(

5:02 a.m. EDT No idea what to do now. Go back to bed? Try to read something? I ache all over, which is a bad sign. *sigh* I NEED to go buy shoes today, so that will have to be done regardless. Right now? No idea...

message 5083: by Ella (new)

Ella | 108 comments 6:40am so much for sleeping in. Lovebug woke up early whining to get outside. Having my cup of jo thinking what to do today while watching the morning news. Most likely get more flowers for my planters for my patio and deck.

11:52am just got home from shopping, going back to bed for a while before making some lunch

message 5085: by Courtney (new)

Courtney | 73 comments 8:00 am. On my second cup of coffee before I start another busy day. I'm in a reading slump :/ It's partly due to my new job leaving me virtually NO time to read through the week, but I'm finding even when I have the time, I'm opting to do other things. It took me almost 3 weeks to read I Am Legend - and it's a tiny book!

9:17AM Another nice calm and quiet morning. Getting ready to have my first cup o coffee. I have not been having on the mornings Hub is at work. But oh well it sounded good. LOL Gonna read some more Black House today. I can't believe I have been struggling like this on this book. UGH I hate when that happens.

Katy and Terri, hope you both get to feeling better soon. It's really no fun at all.

Kathryn you have a very busy day! Wow! Maybe you can sit back and relax today!

Enjoy the reunion Cassie!

message 5089: by Katy (new)

Katy (katyas-69) | 1731 comments Cassie, I have family in Iowa; it's a lovely area. I hope you have an enjoyable time!

12:29 p.m. EDT Considering waking hubby soon to go buy shoes. Maybe some lunch. Slept for a few more hours and feeling much more rested. Guess I just needed a bit more. Fatigue is no fun, as I'm sure I'm not the only one to know! Heh. At least with my fibro it isn't as bad as some others around who I've been, but some days it can be quite challenging. Poor Erasmus just threw up, but Tiger is happily sleeping by my husband's head. Or, rather, happily licking his tail... LOL Cuddled His Royal Majestic Fluffiness for awhile this morning, which displeased Himself very much...

message 5090: by Katy (new)

Katy (katyas-69) | 1731 comments 12:47 p.m. EDT Erasmus wants ... something. I think just attention. Done with e-mail, will wake Dmitry soon and off to the mall!

message 5091: by [deleted user] (new)

Katy, I'm trying the Dramamine. I'll let you know how it goes. :)

Just watched THE HOBBIT actually preferred this to LOTG mainly because The Hobbit is the better story and Martin Freeman is a much better actor than Elijah Wood.

message 5093: by Kathryn (new)

Kathryn (kcanty313) | 1870 comments I love the LOTR, and I didn't much care for The Hobbit. The Two Towers is my favorite of the trilogy. The battle is epic!

message 5094: by Katy (new)

Katy (katyas-69) | 1731 comments Hope it helps, Terri! The meclizine from the pharmacist is usually cheaper than buying Dramamine, so for me that's a huge bonus!

5 p.m. EDT picked up a couple nice pairs of sandals at Macy's for less than $70, which leaves me over $30 in Macy's gift cards, which is nice. There is a toad that lives under our dog's water dish outside, and he pops his head out when I put fresh water in the dish. So cute!

4:49PM Just finished dinner. We had Spaghetti, fresh green beans and corn. YUM! We don't eat pasta much anymore so spaghetti is a nice treat. Going to be going on a bike ride this evening since I have free day from work out. Love having alternatives for nights like this. Still struggling with Black House. I think it is ridiculous that it has taken this long to get to the actual plot of the story, good grief.

message 5096: by Kathryn (new)

Kathryn (kcanty313) | 1870 comments 4:59 PM. A roast is cooking and smelling up my house. Can't wait to dig in! Will be having roast, carrots, peas, mashed potatoes, and peach cobbler for dinner.

Thinking about putting a movie on, but not sure what to watch.

message 5097: by Katy (new)

Katy (katyas-69) | 1731 comments 9:17 p.m. EDT Went outside to watch the fireflies until Erasmus started howling, so I came back in. Have read the first two books and first novella in the Black Knight Chronicles, and about to start book three. Fun stuff!

message 5098: by [deleted user] (new)

9:20 p.m. and I came home from work and went right to bed. Kidney stones bite! Anyway, I'm attempting to catch up on some posts and possibly read for a bit. Not sure yet because I've been in so much pain today. Good news - tomorrow is a new day and it's gonna be better!

message 5099: by Katy (new)

Katy (katyas-69) | 1731 comments Oh, Cindy, kidney stones? Ouch. Feel better!

9:31 p.m. EDT Sort of headachy, maybe I should sleep?

message 5100: by [deleted user] (new)
