A friend of mine was giving some books away and he gave some to me because he knows I love to read, some of the books I was interested in, the others I gave to my mother, anyway I got Standup Guy by Stuart Woods, The Fifth Assassin by Brad Meltzer and Bull River by Robert B Parker.
Victor I don't think either of them are all that scary lol, but then again I feel like I have been desensitized. But I gotta say I much prefer King over Koontz simply because I only disliked a couple of King books compared to several of Koontz. King will always be my favorite author.
Corey it is always nice to just receive books from a friend. I like to give my books away too that I have either duplicated or just did not care for.

I just got another book from the Salvation Army thrift shop, I got American Assassin by Vince Flynn.
I received Trouble In Mind by Jeffery Deaver two days ago in the mail. Today, I received Let's Pretend This Never Happened: A Mostly True Memoir by Jenny Lawson and Fangirl by Rainbow Rowell. The Jenny Lawson book has been on my TBR shelf for a long time after a GR friend reviewed it and said it was hilarious. I don't normally read memoirs, but we all could use a little humor!

I read that memoir last year and thought it was funny-she has a quirky offbeat sense of humor that i get lol- i did enjoy that book more when i read it a little at a time instead of reading it in long stetches-anyway that's just me-enjoy your books :)

I also own Eleanor and Park, which I haven't read yet. I really like the synopses of her books. They all sound different and interesting. I plan to read Fangirl soon, as I have been really wanting to read it.
I think it was your review of Jenny Lawson's book which made me want to get it. :) I know one of my GR friends said it was hilarious, and I've never read a funny book...or one which I knew was when I picked it up. It sounds different, and I've never read a memoir, so I thought I'd check it out. :) Thanks! :)
Attachments is sposed to be another great book buy Rowell. I want to read all of them. But I will do that when the hype is down a bit. LOL

i actually didn't write a review of the memoir so it must someone else's review you're thinking of. i did think it was funny but just know that while many people think it's really funny there are many people that seem to be offended by it-
hope it makes you laugh!

So far the only book I've read by Lehane is A Drink Before The War and it was great, yeah I liked the movies Shutter Island and Mystic River too, another movie I liked that was based on one of his books was Gone Baby Gone, have you seen that one, it's excellent.
Said and done, went to the bookstore today and got 3 books:Horns: Been wanting to read some Joe Hill for a while, and was so glad to see it two days ago, though I couldn't buy it then.
The Wind Through the Keyhole: 2 good things about it: found it in in English and in paperback (the hardcover was too expensive and in Spanish). So excited to see more of the Ka-tet of the rose.
Tess of the d'Urbervilles: Haven't read anything by Hardy and I saw a beautiful Penguin edition, so I had to get it.
