What books have you bought lately?
Rachel I have it too, but have not even considered it yet. There are so many books I wanna read. Geez there is just never enough time to get to them all soon enough.
Rachel: I hadn't heard anything about it either until I saw The Outside offered as a giveaway on Goodreads. It sounds really good. I'll definitely let you know.
In July I boughtMr. Bridge/Mrs. Bridge byEvan S. Connell
20th Century Ghosts byJoe Hill
A Long Desire by Evan S. Connell
Endurance: Shackleton's Incredible Voyage by Alfred Lansing
Ready Player One by Ernest Cline
I, Claudius by Robert Graves
William I and the Norman Conquest By Frank Barlow

Hey Kit would you be interested at some point to read The Wicked Years series with me? I just got the first book last week and have been dying to fall into this series maybe later this year. I have a feeling I will be getting the rest of them through a third party through Amazon. I might be able to find them through our local UBS.
Sure! I just need to get a copy of Wicked. I had one, but it was on a shelf under a window a/c unit, which decided to blow a massive water leak somehow. Ruined it and about 12 other books that were on that shelf, I was so mad! But I've been searching :)
Awesome! This makes me very happy Kit! I am sorry to hear though about your ruined books. I can imagine how you felt! It's no rush, just let me know when you get a hold of a copy of the first one.
I really hope you two like the Wicked books! Maguire's a little wordy for my tastes, but beyond that, I really enjoyed the first two books. The third, not so much. I'm not interested in the forth and final installment..
Janie wrote: "Thanks guys! Rachel yea, I heard that Kite Runner was very good but rather sad. I could not believe it was on the sales rack and I got it for $2. I could not pass that one up."Excellent book haul, Janie!! I adore The Kite Runner and One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest is one of my favorite books of all time!!
Thanks Dustin! :) I have been wanting to get ahold of the wicked years books and found the first one for $3 on the sales rack at our local UBS. I really got some great books for a great price. I was really happy. I will go back and see if I can find the rest of the Wicked Years books maybe next week.

I liked Wicked when I read it years ago, and liked What-the-Dickens: The Story of a Rogue Tooth Fairy too, but found Confessions of an Ugly Stepsister rather boring and slow.
We just got home from the bookstore, and I bought a pretty leather-bound book of Edgar Allen Poe, and a paperback of The Kite Runner. Both were a dollar. :)

This is also the only book by Hoag, and I enjoyed it, as well. Great haul, Holly!!
Holly wrote: "Oh, and I also bought Two Graves by Preston & Child. Can't forget about that one! Lol"And I know of your love for Preston & Child! You're awesome, buddy!!
Yes, LOVE them, lol! Aww, thanks. It's the final installment in a trilogy. Can't wait to get to it after Mr. Holmes!!!!!
You're very welcome! So there's a trilogy, along with all the other books in the series, or is it entirely different?
It's in the Pendergast series. There's actually a couple within the series. Along with this series, there's another, then the first two books in the series should be read together as well.
I see what you mean. When you look at the list of their novels inside one of the books, it tells you which ones should be read together. Then it's not so confusing; just kind of hard to explain.
Yep. Makes it a lot easier. Can't wait to get to the two books by them that I have that I still haven't read. Very excited!! :-D
Holly wrote: "Oh, and I also bought Two Graves by Preston & Child. Can't forget about that one! Lol"I read The Cabinet of Curiosities last year and really liked agent pendergast- I keep meaning to pick up Still Life With Crows but keep getting distracted by other books lol.
