I went to edit the details of the book that shouldn't be linked with the non-GR author and it had a librarian note saying that the book needed to be deleted by a super librarian. Is this the right forum for that problem or should I take it up somewhere else?

Oh, so do they have to be claimed in order to merge them? Sorry, I am not clear on that. They are the same author. Or are you just saying that I could have merged the profiles?
At least one of the two profile needs to be claimed for it to need to be posted in this topic. Otherwise any librarian can merge the profiles.
Librarians can merge non-Goodreads Author profiles simply editing the wrong one, this thread is for Goodreads Author profiles only, that only the staff can merge.I have merged that one, btw.

Hi there. My name is Laurel A. Rockefeller. My books are apparently listed as both "Laurel A. Rockefeller" and, most of them, "Laurel A Rockefeller." The A period is the correct version. I believe Smashwords did not allow me to add the period (I could be in error there). I am low vision, so it's possible I did not enter the information with the period when I published! Regardless, I need to merge the listings for my books that do not have the period in my name with the proper form of having the period. Please help. I'm new to good reads and a bit lost! I believe my book covers DO have the period in the name.
You have posted in the right place; I have edited the books by "Laurel A Rockefeller" correcting the author's name, so the wrong profile should now be empty and your books are all attributed to you.As soon as a Goodreads staff member will see this thread, the wrong one http://www.goodreads.com/author/show/... will be merged into the correct one http://www.goodreads.com/author/show/...

None of those are claimed profiles, so this is not the right thread. Also, looks like the first one needs some additional clean up, not just a straight merge.

Do not list authors for disambiguation, authors who are deceased, or authors needing merging where neither profile has been claimed.
Posts that do not belong in this thread may be deleted.

The 1st one should be merged onto the latter profile. I can't merge them myself since the author is a GR author already. Thanks.
