Sidekicks and minor characters

It says in the books he dresses like one of the three musketeers, has blue eyes and he was known as Radu the handsome. (Oh, and yellow is his favourite colour.) I guess that he probably looks something like Mircea, though possibly not as dark (Cassie speculated one time that of the brothers Mircea might have some wild gypsy blood in him [paraphrasing])
This is probably way off, but I actually picture him a little on the chubby side and quite camp with it. And I always see him as older looking too, even though he's younger than Mircea. Don't ask me to explain, it's just the image that grew in my head! :D
I'll need to give some thought to what famous person he might look like though. I'd kinda like to do another entry for KC's valentine contest with Radu & his boyfriend, but I need a good Radu!

though I don't see Radu as chubby... lol
I see him sorta similar to this... but with black hair.

Its the closest I could get... :)

I have no idea why I think of him as slightly chubby. I'm pretty sure he's never been described that way in the books, but he just sort of evolved into that in my head. :D
Oh, and we mustn't forget that he has great legs too!!

Legs and hands...
I'm not sure why, but I see him having pianist hands...
And I have no idea when or why that detail stuck. lol
As for Chubby - perhaps your mind linked in to Porthos played by Gerard Depardieu =P
Though to be honest - I just CANNOT envision the guy in my pic in canary yellow. My brain just refuses to go there! :D

I'm slightly amazed that he doesn't look repugnant in that colour, though I don't know how I'd feel about walking down the street next to someone dressed like that?!

What do you think?
Also, if Radu were straight (assuming you're female) would you date him?

I think Ray's a sweetheart. He doesn't always come across too well, cos he acts a bit of a buffoon sometimes, but he's smarter than he first appears and he seems loyal and brave, and those are very good qualities. In between moans and curses, he was very supportive of Dory in Fury's Kiss and that wins major brownie points!
Now, since I'm yacking, here's something that's stupid but for some reason stuck in my mind. In Midnight's Daughter, Radu says to Dory...
“Have you ever heard of a vampire chef?”Yet, we learn in Fury's Kiss that LC's chef, Verrell, is vampire. What's that all about then??
“Well, no, but—”
“Nor will you. Death, you know,” he said archly, as a mirror shattered somewhere above. “Ruins the taste buds.
There's something odd about Verrell, despite his skill with an omelette. Why would Marlowe know LC's chef? I'm presuming Verrell came over from France to be with LC since he knew all about Christine, so how would Marlowe know him??
I smell a new crackpot theory brewing somewhere ... !

I suspect vampires, the nice ones, have chefs for their walking food banks

Darn it all!! I missed summin'!
*runs off to re-read and check on that!! *

Okay - it was possibly his cute little indignant french accent that distracted me! LOL
Or possibly the mention of an omelet... YUM!

I had to reread just to double-check that he was a vamp too. I'd thought he was, then I started to doubt myself and had to check, but yeah, he definitely is. It's just an odd little discrepancy which naturally I'm trying to create a giant conspiracy out of!!
I still think it odd that Marlowe knew who Verrell was on sight. Now I could understand Marlowe having files on every single vampire in the world that he could find. I think this is quite likely actually. But having that information, and memorising it all is quite another thing. KC says senators are like rockstars and it just seems odd that Marlowe would know the chef (who must be a fairly low level vamp) of a guy on a different senate.
I'm deeply suspicious! I think Verrell is one of Marlowe's and he's a plant to report on LC's sex life. I have spoken!!
:D

Ray - really growing on me - not the obvious guy to date but...
The chef - I might be getting Mircea and LC mixed up here - who has the old half blind French valet? I thought it was Mircea, and that he had a soft spot for his ex human servants (not in a Laurell Hamilton way I hasten to add).
I bet having a French chef would be something you would 'collect'. After all they have Raphael and Jack the Ripper in the court so why not a chef!

Anna, I think you're thinking of Mircea's old tutor Horatiu. The guy I'm talking about, Verrell, only appeared for the first time in Fury's Kiss. He's helping out with the cooking at Dory's house for a bit, then later he tells Dory that LC is only into her because he wants to 'save' her since he couldn't save Christine. That guy!
He's a chef and a vampire, despite Radu saying vampire chefs are no good. Maybe Radu is one of those food snobs? I could believe that actually. Though I prefer my 'Verrell is a spy' theory! :D

Thanks for the reminder Lannister

(btw Lannister I'm now imagining Marlowe dancing to 'always hiding in the kitchen...', complete with back up singers LMAO :D)

LMAO!!
Radu's kinda like Elton John from the 70s when he wore crazy outfits (though much better looking!)
OMG, I just googled and found this image LMAO!!

I didn't doctor the colour in this one. Elton John actually wore that!!
Radu, is that you? :D

Hey you know I am loving right now is the Triple D"s...

I am so inching to see how that comes out.. But I am so team Pritkin..( my greatest lover)

Maybe Rosier has a secret fetish for drag queens. Hey, you never know!

I doubt any of them do. Except for maybe Pritkin since he's half human male.

I dont think he cares even if he is not hungry...

Does anyone remember how we were speculating before about Gillian, Marlowe's witch from Elizabethan times, and how she might still be alive? KC said that Gillian's story was 'unusual' and hinted we might see her again (possibly in the 3rd short story, if KC ever gets time to write it?)
Magic users live longer than normal, but Gillian was an adult by 1600 (give or take a few years either way), so in the normal course of events she should be long dead.
But then I thought of Francoise in Touch the Dark. The scenes in Carcassonne take place (we believe) in 1661, but because she'd been in Faerie, Francoise is still alive and not especially aged, as far as I can tell. Granted Francoise's story is about 60 years later than Gillian's, but if you've already survived four centuries without gaining many wrinkles, another 60 years doesn't seem all that much.
So, based on this, if Gillian somehow found a way into Faerie, she could definitely still be alive, I think. Maybe we'll see a grand reunion with her and Marlowe after all! (This assumes the Black Circle didn't get hold of her and drain her magic, of course.)
There are loads of minor characters in the books, like Billy Joe, Francoise, Ray, Radu etc. If you'd like to share some thoughts on them, please post away.
