Cute story, except they got mad stupid once the loveyas got said and the end was frustrating … Pffft.
@zeenat thanks that chapter settled me a little at least enough to wait for the next book. Finished Dancing, Shutdown, Her Demonic Angel.
Almost done with Vampires Need Not...Apply?
What should I start next
Dresden files
Grave series by kalayna price
Or Jane yellowrock series by faith hunter
Or kitty norville series by Carrie Vaughn
These have been in my TBR pile time to tackle one.
I loved the Jane Yellowrock books. It's one of my favourite series. But I suspect I'll be drowned out by the folks insisting you read the Dresden Files! (To my shame, I haven't that series yet.)
I have a few Dresden books but that series is long and each book is expensive :( I think if I start that right now I won't be able to read them all, I just cant spend that much in one month. Plus if those books are as long as the alera codex that is a little intimidating for me. My life will be on hold. Lol. I'm really bad if I start a series I can't stop tell there are no more books available. These are my reasons for not starting that one.
I can understand that feeling of not wanting to stop once you get into a series, though I also agree that it's a little daunting when the number of books is well into double digits. At least Jane Yellowrock is only on book 6 or thereabouts (I think?). It took me a little while to get into the series, as I found Jane's split personality a little odd at first, but it really grew on me. And I *love* the vamps in this series, cos they are scary mofo's!
I am in agreement with Lannister--love the vamps in that series. If you don't use the library getting into the Dresdin files can be daunting with all of the books and short stories. If it were me I'd start with Jane, but I am cheap like that. There are a lot less books to catch up on too. I didn't like the first book or so either, but I loooved the last few I have read.Finished:
Fangs But No Fangs (Young Brothers, #2) by Kathy Love
I was enjoying the book … then the end got me again. It just sputtered out … I don’t think her characters should ever say or think I love you because the story kinda goes to crap after that for me.
If it's about money, go with the cheaper option :) But, as daunting as Dresden Files are... It is WORTH it. It's probably better to space them out anyways, because when you are done you're gonna be like "OH NO WHAT'S NEXT!?!?" lolJane Yellowrock is really good too. I love bruiser <3

Wow, Zeenat, you're really giving Connie Suttle a go, which I'm very happy 'cause I just simply love her :PFinished
, which, I have to say, I didn't love, but I enjoyed it and probably continue with the series later on. Also finished reading
and I have to say, that I was pleasantly surprised. Don't know if I continue with the series though, but even if I do, I will only read books with the characters from the original Breed. Now I'm either going to read
or
, not sure which one yet.
@Valerie:I was the same freaking way, couldn't quit till the series was done. I can't wait till next month when I break the book buying limit I made for myself again....
@Margo:
The breeds series changes sooooo much from that 1st book. I am too OCD to not read some of them, I get twitches sometimes thinking about the books and short stories I have missed. lol
Especially the ones that I missed in the first 15 or so books, since I think that the story is coming back around to that part in a way. I am behind so dunno!

What should ..."
I vote for the Grave Series, I started it and I fell in LOVE with Alex Craft, she's excellent. I have only read the first Jane Yellowrock so far, is good, they are right, but...I liked the Grave series better, at least in the first book...
Finished Tangled Threads and Undead and Unwed, that book...got graphic when I was not expecting it to, but I really liked it and now I want to read the next one.Just started United We Spy and STRUGGLING through The Savage Grace. The things we read because family members tell us we should...
@Aileen:I stopped at book 7 ... I think it is one of those series that should have quit while it was ahead. Oh ... and the graphic stuff just started lol. Sinclair.... I totally didn't get the girly-love-shoes bit--not a girly girl here!
BTW it is massively stupid that the GR app doesn't show images and you have to go to your phone's browser to see what people are reading. It is that way atleast if you post a pic/book or something. Who knows what you sightlings see anyway. :P
Before I read about issues others were having I thought it was all on the accessibility part. I am used to that sort of thing with programs hah. Crap not saving, buttons not working, and other stupid stuff.
Oh I forgot to add on my long list that I'm also rereading The Good, the Bad, and the Undead. And I do love the Connie Suttle books. There are so many problems an annoyances, but they are absolutely like crack.
Spoiler tags being fubar is annoying too! Tap on view spoiler ... bugger won't open ... tap it again ... wtf piece of crap now I have to go to a browser. That totally negates my attempt at being lazy.
Aileen wrote: "@Zeenat, THAT BOOK, nay, THAT SERIES!!!!! Love it..."Aileen are you talking about the Hollows book? KH is doing a reread of her series, and she created a Goodreads group. She replies to our questions!
ERMAHGAWD I HAD NO IDEA. I knew she was doing a reread...but...SHE HAS A GROUP AND ANSWERS QUESTIONS???? *must join*

FU cliffhangers! FU!
2 years between this book and the previous one—man am I glad I didn’t have to wait that long.
Oh! I didn't realise that Adrian Phoenix book was out! I think I'd need to re-read at least the last book in the series again before I started this one, cos I can't remember what was going on. I do remember the plot becoming increasingly complicated though, with a growing list of characters.Don't appreciate a cliffhanger, especially if I have to wait ages for the next book. :(
Lannister wrote: "Oh! I didn't realise that Adrian Phoenix book was out! I think I'd need to re-read at least the last book in the series again before I started this one, cos I can't remember what was going on. I do..."I think we're all with you on that waiting ages comment
Hopefully it won't be 2+ years before the next one is out. I'm not sure why this book took so long, as I don't think the gap was this big between the previous books.I do like this series, cos it's weird and dark as hell, but I would definitely need to re-read before starting book 5.
Right, I didn't know that. It's a shame when an author has a big gap between books, as I think they start to lose fans the longer it goes on. People either forget entirely about the series, or they forget the plots and can't be bothered to re-read so they don't continue with it.I love Dante. He's so damaged and it breaks my heart.
I read the first Maker's Song book and really didn't like it. I kept expecting the author to clear up mysteries about characters and plotlines and she never did. It really annoyed me.Reading
because it was free on Amazon. I'm not really into it so far, but I was looking a fluffy Scottish highland themed PNR. So we'll see if the smut balances out the lack of interesting plot developments =p

Llaph, nope, it's a problem with the Android app (not sure about iPhone) but it affects us sightlings too. I see a little greenish square instead of the book cover. One thing we could maybe try is to insert the book twice - once with the cover and once without. That way you get the text description and the pic too. This lets people using phones/tablets see what book you're talking about.
Here's an example: Tempt the Stars
The only difference between the two links is that one says 'book:blahblah' and the other says 'bookcover:blahblah' so I just copy and paste the link and amend it as required.
Just a suggestion. :)

Taken by the Others (H&W Investigations, #2) by Jess Haines
Chaz is such a dork…. I don’t care if he is supposed to be “sexy” or a good bf … I don’t like him. (After being bad and reading some spoilers I have vindication for thinking that~)
I read the blurb and was bad a bit and read a few spoilers … I don’t know if I will read the next book. One of the biggest things that I hate to read about is cheating and I don’t think I want to read that! Not interested in the series enough to read it. (According to the spoilers it happened many times, he just got caught at it.) Erm, yes I hatehatehate it very much. No worries people I am seeing a therapist so np!
It is a bit disconcerting to be sitting at your computer and one of your dogs (the freaking horse one) lays down and then … I get a cold f’ing nose poked into my side. Scuuuuse me for letting my shirt ride up….
