The thing I use to listen to my books let me navigate via word, sentence, line, heading, page, and a whole lot of other ways. If I think I missed something I hit to rr button ... the rr button on my reader is pretty worn hah.

@ jax:

I read the first book and gave it a high rating ... I was able to read the first 2 or so books. When I was able to get the next one it sat on my reader and I never finished it. I read the last few pages though. Think there was a shiny involved....

Went to the public library today and asked if they were planning on shelving The Daylight War, since they have the first two in the series already. He took down my info and told me I would be the first one called when it came in. WOW! That is service!

Being able to listen to a book is awesome for letting you be able to do other stuff like cleaning and still finish a book….

Fyi it is not a good idea to listen to a book when you are working out where you have to keep count of how many reps you are doing....

Jax | 831 comments Finished Out for Blood (House of Comarre, #4) by Kristen Painter and REALLY?

As it was I was getting irritated with a lot of the "plot" then I get to the end, and its a mash up of the relationship issues between Lost Girls' Bo & Dyson, and Buffy & Angel!!
COME ON! It was a COMPLETE turn about and totally unnecessary!
3 stars, but only cos I can't give it 2.5!!

Claire (claire1) | 4451 comments I'm doing a comfort-seeking re-read of the Highlander series.

Nothing like a good, sappy HEA to get a girl through midterms!

message 1862: by Zeenat (new)

Zeenat (zeekwon) | 6376 comments Did you finish the Dresden Files? Although I wouldn't read it during midterms... Too much violence and tension ROFL.

You are too nice, I would have rounded down ... I can be mean like that.

River Marked (Mercedes Thompson, #6) by Patricia Briggs

Hrm in the list for the series this is the only book that has mercedes and not mercy….

I hate when my mind comes up blank when I want to find something ... when I want to read something non violent and suspensish I usually pick a historical to red … a good one that is not just plain stupid with the sappy and bad facts. Though one of my favorite historical series has suspense to it. It does not have much violence to it though….
I may have issues….

Hahaha no, I haven't finished the Dresden Files. I know if I start reading one before Friday, there's no way I'll get my paper done.

message 1865: by Jax (new)

Jax | 831 comments @ Llaph... I may reconsider once I finally finish the series. Unless there's some really fantastic reasoning to back up the decision on Out for Blood's ending... it will get kicked down... But for now, I am willing to give the author the benefit of the doubt... Crappy that I have to wait on the release of the final instalment though.

Apparently I'm in one of my more generous moods...

What did you think of My Life as a White Trash Zombie?

Mello ❣ Illium ✮Harry✮ ☀Myrnin☀ Torin Ichimaru | 2012 comments Only because I read when not working. I don't have much time to post these days. I've been missing you guys.

@Lannister I really liked it. There's a lot of worldbuilding, so it isn't very fast paced, but I adore Angel and hope things work out for her.

message 1881: by Lannister (new)

Lannister (lannisteruk) | 10911 comments I kinda want to read this series (cos it's Diana Rowland) but I just don't know if I can get over my zombie aversion!

Mello ❣ Illium ✮Harry✮ ☀Myrnin☀ Torin Ichimaru | 2012 comments It's a good book. I was surprised by how much I was praying for Angel to get some brains when things weren't looking so good for her. Seriously, I was like, "I hope she gets some brains soon." She actually eats brains quite a few times in the book and I was amazed it didn't freak me out.

message 1883: by Zeenat (new)

Zeenat (zeekwon) | 6376 comments well come back! LOL ;) It's not like you guys really got a snow storm this week :P

Lannister, you have a zombie aversion? like ewww gross, or ewww overdone?

Mello ❣ Illium ✮Harry✮ ☀Myrnin☀ Torin Ichimaru | 2012 comments It wasn't the weather. Work is just kicking my butt. And the storm wasn't all that bad here. By the next day, you couldn't even tell that it had snowed.

message 1885: by Lannister (new)

Lannister (lannisteruk) | 10911 comments Zeenat, it's a kinda 'eww gross' thing. I guess I associate UF books with hot vamps and sexy shifters and kickass heroines. They run about saving the world and having sex. And when I try to put a zombie in there .... does not compute!! The idea of a zombie having sex is just yuck!

I probably would enjoy the book if I started it, but I think my prejudices are getting in the way.

message 1886: by Zeenat (new)

Zeenat (zeekwon) | 6376 comments I guess it depends on the kind of zombies. There is the extreme, walking dead type zombies. But you can have just mind controlled people... Or zombies that are basically vampires, but instead of blood they eat brains/flesh...

message 1887: by Lannister (new)

Lannister (lannisteruk) | 10911 comments Yeah, I tend to think of the walking dead kind when I think of zombies, with skin peeling off and raggedy clothes and stuff like that. Pretty much the opposite of Mircea in every sense LOL!

I suppose a zombie that was similar to a vamp wouldn't be so bad. I hadn't thought of them like that.

message 1888: by Arushi (new)

Arushi | 3652 comments Uhhh Lannister I take my recommendation of Anita Blake back from you. There are too many zombies in that one. You would NOT like!!! And yep, we even deal with zombies (sort of - its vampires who can rot)having sex. Gross! But the book was still good.

message 1889: by Llaph (new)

Llaph (llaph) | 3285 comments zombies ... are ... gross ... and ... scary
In the anthology Dates from Hell I think it was there was a guy who was tech a zombie and I still got the heebies when I thought about it even if it was a voodoo curse, I think, and the fmc and mmc were all lovey and sexiliciouslike with each other.
rotting apendages....
I have read a lot of books and differences with zombies and still ... I freak sorta.

re AB--In Guilty Pleasures omg philip made me cry (not really, but I got reallly sad about his character).

message 1893: by Dale (new)

Dale Modisette (lordshrill) | 343 comments I just realized if I want to read all the books in "to-read" list, I have to read like 256 books a year for the next 8 years. And the most I have ever read in a year is 196 and that was harder than hell. I guess if I give my TV shows, movies, Google+, friends and family just maybe I could do it. And I'd save like $100/month for the internet cost($9,600.00).

message 1894: by Lannister (new)

Lannister (lannisteruk) | 10911 comments OMG Dale!! And you're not taking into account all the books that will be released in the next eight years that you'll want to read! It's a lost cause.

If I stayed off Goodreads and actually read instead, I'd probably get through at least double, probably triple, the amount of books I read now. But I'm having fun, so I'm not stopping.

It's so hard! The most I read was 350ish, 2011. But a lot of those were super short romances. Plus my husband was deployed. My husband is deployed again, but I'm so busy I have no chance! Plus I have taken on a lot longer books like the ASOIAF books.

Just wtf … I rather liked the last story though.
The sparks story gave me a sad face—I hate most of roman
‘s ex-harem since they are snotty bitches. Don’t care what she wrote I still think Lady Pamela is a dumbass ... waste of Mikhail potential—I was looking forward to a story about him too. God, I hope Cora Leigh, princess Joanna, and Maria Consuela don’t get their own stories—I hated them most of all. At least Dougal’s book is next, hope she doesn’t … grr … I have been looking forward to his story since the first book. Yes, her stories can be silly and sometimes really silly, but this story was just … grody.
Just gonna scratch my head and keep thinkin’ “wtf” at the other three stories.
The last story is the only one I would give a 4 to, 1 3 and the others 2. I have never read something by Kerrelyn Sparks that I didn’t like till now. :/

People do not want to know what my yearly amount of books read was last year ... or even up to now. I have entirely too much time on my hands.

Mello ❣ Illium ✮Harry✮ ☀Myrnin☀ Torin Ichimaru | 2012 comments Finished Full Blooded (Jessica McClain, #1) by Amanda Carlson which I found to be a very good start to a shifter series. So glad the sequel will be out next month. I must know what happens!

Reading The Sweet Scent of Blood (Spellcrackers.com, #1) by Suzanne McLeod now.
