with you! When would be a good time?
@ Maria I would love to read
with you. I have had that book for over a year. Can we do it in September? As you can see, my buddy read addiction is getting worse, everyone. lol
I try to get a head start, but then I end up waiting anxiously while everyone else reads the book. I love the discussion. :)

I'll read
with you. It's been sitting in my Kindle forever =)
@Maria there's a buddy read for Cinder tomorrow if u want to join
Hey new to this but if anyone want to be my reading buddy i seriously want to read any of the books listed below https://www.goodreads.com/review/list... Let me know :)
@Ashley...I will order my copy tonight from the library. S, I should have it sometime in the next week depending on where it comes from. So anytime after August 10 will work.
@hannah okay in that case lets start august 15 to give you some time to get the book :) although im new to this so how exactly do we make a "thread"
@Ashley...August 15 works for me. If you go to the section for buddy reads coming up you add it there. Just do as everyone else did but obviously change the info to fit our book.

let me know if you need help :)
@trisha thank you @hannah sorry for the wait i was doing a quick sprint, but i will go make the thread :)
Vicki, this is my third year teaching 7th & 8th grade social studies and I love it! How about you? Nicole, yay! What dates are you thinking?
Megan, I am going in to my 24th year teaching English to freshmen and my 19th year teaching yearbook. I've also taught seniors multicultural literature. Last year our district "went digital" which was quite a challenge for me since I am not very tech/computer savvy, but I learned a lot.
We also are going on a 4X4 block schedule this year so I'll have two English classes and one yearbook plus on prep. Classes will be 90 minutes instead of 55. Finals will be October 8-10 instead of December 18th or so. It'll take some getting used to so we'll see. :o)
Oh, plus a few days ago our negotiating team and district FINALLY came to an agreement and we are getting a 12% raise this year!!! YAY!!! I'm at the top of the scale since I have my masters and have taught there for so many years, so I also get a longevity stipend, which is nice to get a little extra for all my hard work. LOL

on my computer, just need to transfer it to my Kindle. Maria and I were also discussing reading
if you're interested.

Emma, IF you plan to take them slowly, I'll read them with you. But if you want to go at a faster pace, I'm not the right partner since I go back to work on Monday.I went to a book fair a couple months ago and I never thought I'd read these, but I decided to get them for $1 each, so I have all four books. I'm okay though if you want to move faster so don't feel bad if you "reject" me. LOL
No slow sounds good. I was planning just to read a chapter or two a day, they are quick chapters so that's not much. I have plenty of other books to read anyway so it's not as if I will have nothing to read :)
Also I am pretty sure I have all four at my flat but can only see the first one and the last one, I know I def have them so they must be at my parents, I am going there in a couple of weeks, if I cannot find them I get them then.
Vicki, it sounds like you have a full schedule! Last year I only taught eighth grade with one period of civics elective thrown in, but due to budget cuts I now have a class of seventh graders as well. I'm excited though, I'll now get to cover the Revolutionary War through to today, instead of beginning with the Westward Expansion. Our district got Chromebook's last year for the junior high, and even though I don't usually think of myself as "tech savvy" per se, I love having it in my classroom! There's just so many more things I now have time to cover, and it makes communicating with the kids a lot easier.
That raise sounds great... for buying more books! LOL

I can't believe I actually have all the books AND I'm going to read them! YAY!!!
So when shall we start our slow read? LOL
Looks like there are 24 chapters in book 1 and they are around 40-50 pages, so if we read 2 chapters a day that's a 12 day read, or if we decide to do only 1 chapter a day it'll take us 24 days. So what's your preference? I would be okay with going either way.
Megan wrote: "Vicki, it sounds like you have a full schedule! I not only have English classes/papers/tests etc. to grade, but I also have 19 grandchildren and five children. So there is always a birthday party or an "emergency" where I have to hurry up and abandon my book, I also have to supervise games, dances, and so on as part of my job.
You sound busy too! I always loved history and I could ace tests because of my good memory (that I used to have), but I can't put the pieces to the puzzle together. LOL So it's always been disjointed to me. Had someone ever told me back in my school days that what happens in one country actually affects other countries it MIGHT have made a difference. It wasn't until I was taking a class in American history in college that I realized how one event/place led to another. But I do find history very interesting...not politics though. LOL
Me too, why don't just schedule the first book and see how long it takes us then can schedule the rest. I can start any time, since it's only a chapter or two a night, it won't get in the way with anything else.
https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/... If you don't enjoy it, please do not feel obligated to keep reading just because I like it :)
Emma, don't worry about that! It's just that I never used to read ANY science fiction and I HATE watching vampire movies so I don't. But since I joined GR and started reading in unexplored territories, I found that I can read vampire books AND enjoy them. I just can't watch them. But I give you my word if I don't like it, I'll let you know and leave you hanging. LOL I mean, I'll gracefully bow out. :o)
lol that's okay. Just making sure lol. I have read them before so it's not like I need to read them again, but I just feel like it. If you do like twilight you should check out
the first one is free for kindle and it's along the same lines as twilight but not vampires. It's a brilliant series. Prob better than Twilight. I don't find Twlight like any other vampire books I have read, there isn't much gore, (but that doesn't bother me, so I may have glossed over it lol). If you find gore hard to read, stay away from
I am really struggling to read it, just because it is so graphic and horrible. Really hard to read.
Hello peeps I have
up for a buddy read in the next week or so. If there already is a thread for it then just let me know. :)

was that what you were looking for? :)
Thank you, Katie, and in light of what an awful buddy I've been lately, thanks for letting me read it with you. :o)
Don't worry, I've been so behind on a lot of buddy reads, so I don't think you're awful. Of course, I wouldn't think you were awful anyway, even if I wasn't behind too. I always enjoy doing my buddy reads with you. :)
