@Vicki oh man! that had to have been rough! Sometimes you just gotta do what you got to do, regardless. I know my fridge in my dorm had leaked my first year of college, but luckily I managed to be able to buy a new one. I live about 20 minutes from home. I don't commute though in winter because KY roads are so hilly and awful. In the fall and in better weather, I mostly commute then. I go back and forth between the house and the dorm, especially if things are stressful at school or with roommates. Plus if I have night classes, I'll stay at the dorm sometimes depending on how late it is. I don't want to risk my life going to class, especially with driving so I stay put during winter weather. Safety first! We have washers and dryers in the basement of my dorm building. It's 16 floors and sometimes trying to do laundry is an all night job! It is thankfully free-it used to not be...

@Vicki, also we have a grocery store on campus. It's not a long walk. Just across the street. Plus I'm close to a Family Dollar, a Speedway and if all else fails I can walk downtown in no time and be at the grocery. When we got a lot of snow and was out of school for the week, I went to some of the grocery stores and went to the dollar store as well as the campus grocery and stocked up on food--I was good to go.

@Vicki Yes, 16 floors. Girls on certain floors, boys on certain floors too. We have RAs. We have a ping pong room, a study room, snack machines in our lobby and we have a basement to do laundry.

I know. I'm hoping to go to law school after I graduate. Maybe take a year off before I go. Education is important! My parents have always pushed and emphasized education. But for the most part, I'm pretty self-driven. Not so much lately when it comes to studying for my LSAT, lol. But it is summer and I need a break!
