while I'm glad(view spoiler)[ this is from the standpoint of a girl who lost her ability to walk. I think there aren't enough books about this! it's wonderfully done so far (hide spoiler)]
Curt(view spoiler)[ I don't find this part at all realistic. I think Curt would have been completely shamed if he'd actually blown her off and not contacted her. Everyone would have HATED him (hide spoiler)]

school(view spoiler)[ I also found this part completely unrealistic. of course, school would have wanted to meet with her AHEAD of time before she went to a single classroom WITH HER PARENTS to explain the accommodations they had made and so she knew what to expect once she got back. There is no way she'd be sitting at a teacher's desk with no idea what chair she would/could sit in.... AT least, that has been my experience with schools (hide spoiler)]

I love how angry she got at one point - something I think is completely realistic
she didn't win homecoming queen - although I thought she might

What a horrible thing to happen to such a young girl. It's a double whammy that her parents are (view spoiler)[getting divorced AND she finds her boyfriend basically cheating or at least being inappropriate with Jenny. But worse to me is that he totally brushed her off when she really needed him. Now her legs...ugh (hide spoiler)]

I agree with your spoilers, especially about the school part. I'm sure there are schools/teachers that don't consider the need for handicapped areas. I've had 3-4 wheelchair bound students before and there were never any issues...telling her to go to her seat which was in the center of the room. Crazy!

First, I think that Curt (view spoiler)[was already a jerk and so were his polo friends. He was already bad news. I'm not surprised that he is treating her the way he is and I'm not surprised his "buddies" are backing him up. I am surprised, however, that others in school haven't come to her aid yet. Maybe they will. But it is disappointing that he didn't even have the respect of texting her or going to see her in the hospital. He's a class 1 JERK! (hide spoiler)]
