Finally started Spirit Bound (Vampire Academy, #5) by Richelle Mead its been on my shelf for almost a year, but that's also when I started the series. But I really wish I started it sooner, because its so good :)

message 159: by Missye (new)

Missye | 12 comments One YA, one not. I'm concurrently reading Alexander Smith's Lockdown and Mickey Spillaine's Mike Hammer: Lady, Go Die!. The former, I've heard scads of good things about the series; the latter, his writing style's similar to mine. Good stuff!

message 160: by Brigid ✩ (new)

Brigid ✩ Currently reading two things, neither of them are YA:

The Memoirs of Sherlock Holmes (Sherlock Holmes, #4) by Arthur Conan Doyle Going After Cacciato by Tim O'Brien

Both are good so far!

Anna (amartinischwob) | 146 comments @Morgan, I read quite a few Cirque du Freak books (years ago actually!) and LOVED them, I'm so mad that I finished or at least caught up to the last book but they were so creepy and awesome!!!

I just started a Buddy reads book, Daughter of Smoke & Bone (Daughter of Smoke & Bone, #1) by Laini Taylor ....really interesting but not sure where it's going yet...but I'm really hoping it's a good read!

It's really slow to get into. Blah.

I'm also reading North Pole High Beginnings by Candace Jane Kringle

Jordan Kathy wrote: "Every Last Kiss looks really interesting, how are you liking it so far?"

It's really Egyptian... I finished it, the story of Cleopatra sounded interesting, I thought it would be a retelling, in a sense it was but idk it just wasn't for my. There were some good romantic chemistry scenes, but the protagonist is really confused about what she wants out of life and who to trust. Honestly, I was a little annoyed with it.

Just finished Pandemonium (Delirium, #2) by Lauren Oliver yesterday and it was so much better than I anticipated. AMAZING. And I need that next book now. I'm also probably going to start Finale (Hush, Hush, #4) by Becca Fitzpatrick sometime today.

message 172: by Little Bee (new)

Little Bee (littlebeesreads) Yesterday I started The Trouble With Spells (Of Witches and Warlocks, #1) by Lacey Weatherford , I finished it today. IT IS AMAZING. I have been working on Breakfast with Buddha by Roland Merullo for a book club, it is good, but sometimes my mind wanders. Last night I started This Dark Endeavor (The Apprenticeship of Victor Frankenstein, #1) by Kenneth Oppel , I am on Chapter 2..haven't been able to read much as The Trouble with Spells kind of consumed me LOL

I'm currently reading Shatter Me (Shatter Me, #1) by Tahereh Mafi which is actually really good. Also Under the Never Sky (Under the Never Sky, #1) by Veronica Rossi and Finale (Hush, Hush, #4) by Becca Fitzpatrick which is great so far, but I'm a little worried it will take a turn for the worse. Hopefully it won't though, we don't need any trouble in paradise for Nora and Patch.

I'm currently reading Wicked (Pretty Little Liars, #5) by Sara Shepard , which Is pretty good but it follows the tv series, and is practically the same so there's not much of a surprise in anything.

Jordan Morgan wrote: "I'm currently reading Wicked (Pretty Little Liars, #5) by Sara Shepard, which Is pretty good but it follows the tv series, and is practically the same so there's not much of a surprise in anything."

The next few books in the series are absolutely nothing like the TV show and I don't really see how they could fit what happened in the book plots into the TV plots without causing mass hysteria.

Jillyn | 88 comments I'm starting City of Bones (The Mortal Instruments, #1) by Cassandra Clare

Amy (amy_pearce) | 17 comments Today I just finished reading Broken by Dean Murray it was really good! Sadly I read it before I had the money to buy the next book so now I must suffer!!! This one is in her POV and left me with many questions which are apparently answered in Torn by Dean Murray which is his POV and which I very much need to buy lol... after which I will need the rest of the books in the series :)

I'm reading Les Misérables by Victor Hugo which is pretty good so far. Also Killer (Pretty Little Liars, #6) by Sara Shepard which is also pretty good, and I'm so glad this series is beginning to pick up, after the second one I was worried it wouldn't.

message 197: by Marie (new)

Marie | 9 comments I'm reading The Knife of Never Letting Go (Chaos Walking, #1) by Patrick Ness and it's amazing but I put it on hold to read Reckless (Thoughtless, #3) by S.C. Stephens .Oh Kiera.I always took her side for the first two books but she really gets on my nerves in this one when it comes to Griffin. Yes, Anna is expeting his baby and seems to have strong feelings for him but she never asked him to settle down of even asked him how he felt about getting serious so he doesn't have to be faithfull to her unless she aks him to. He's going to takeresponsibility when it comes to his child anyway and that's what really matters. Still, since it's a romance book he'll probably become almost perfect when the book will be done anyway. And what really bugs me is that she doesn't realize that whathever is going on with Griffin and Anna, it's their business and not hers. She's not in a position to judge him or to criticize him, Anna is.I needed to get that off my chest!.
