I loved this book and the entire series about Deborah Knott.

I just purchased this one - haven't read it yet but it looks like a great read.

I read the first two. It is like a train wreck that you can't stop watching. I like the books but am disgusted at the same time if that makes sense.

Thanks, Catherine. Much appreciated. :0)

Would it make more sense maybe to read the first book in the series, Gary, to introduce more people to Chelsea Cain?

I think I have the first book in the series somewhere, just haven't got round to it and I CAN'T read things out of order!!!

I agree starting at #1 would be the best idea. I have read the first 4 in the series but if the group reule ony permeit one book per author per year it will take us about 5 years to get top this one. I'll change my nomination to Heartsickby Chelsea Cain if it pleases the group

Thanks, Gary. Makes sense. And if it's chosen and gets people interested in Chelsea Cain, it's also accomplished that.

Nancy: The Trvis MGee novels are classics. Start at the beginning. Tavis is a HOOT and the 1st Florida Eco Defender PI (and Parker Spencer Tough) , take retirement a bit at a time, living on a house boat in FT Lauderdale he won in a poker game (The Busted Flush) My Fav: The empty Copper Sea. Happy reading!

Can you read this without reading his first book, Bill?

Can you read this without reading his first book, Bill?"
Yes but naturally better to have read Deadly Straights. But reads on its own. Bob was good about that. Forgive my not including that note.
Cheers,
Bill

General rules for Group Reads
1) If your nomination wins - you will be the discussion moderator.
2) One (1) nomination only per person. Neither self-nominations by authors nore nominations by there respective publishers or publicist will be accepted.
3) Do not cheat or manipulate results. It is not acceptable to create fake accounts to nominate books or vote in polls and it is not acceptable to invite people to the site for the sole purpose of nominating a book or voting for a book in a poll. It is not acceptable to ask for votes or influence the poll in any way. If the moderators feel that a group read poll has been manipulated, the book in question will be disqualified. If the moderators feel that the user(s) are fake accounts, these will be reported to Goodreads for further review.
4) Please do not repeat an author we have read in the last year. Check the bookshelves to see the authors we've read in the past year. http://www.goodreads.com/group/booksh...
5) For your nomination please include Title, Author and Link (Use the "add book/author" link at the top of the comment box).
Since we are an international group, please check to make sure the book is readily available in more than one format. the last thing we want is to nominate a book that no one can get.
Finally, a word about series - the joy or bane of a mystery reader's life! Please consider whether the book you are nominating would be best read by someone who has read all the previous books in the series or can be enjoyed by someone new to the series too.
Nominations will run from 28 Sep to 7 Oct. The poll will run from 8 - 12 Oct. Good luck with your nominations.
