Joy Mutter (goodreadscomjoy_mutter) | 27 comments Random Bullets by Joy Mutter The Kindle of Random Bullets is FREE on Amazon today, 15th March.

After shooting and killing his nephew, a gunman runs amok in a London park. What drives Edward to commit such atrocities? Who will survive yet another of his moments of madness? Set in Jersey, Cornwall, London, Manchester, and places not of this world, Random Bullets is a contemporary crime thriller with a paranormal twist.

“Action-packed, thought-provoking, a real ride. I couldn't put it down,” “crime with a twist,” “An insightful look behind the many faces we wear, and how burning resentments can take you into madness and murder,” “This is a very well thought out book.” “Kinetic — really zips along at a pace. I was really drawn in.” These are just a few of the reviews Random Bullets has received; 25+ 5-star reviews across all Amazon sites so far. Your review would also be much appreciated.

I was interviewed in February 2016 by two BBC Radio 4 producers as part of their Analysis programme on Inheritance. They’d heard that Random Bullets deals with the divisive subject of disinheritance and its aftermath, something I’ve experienced.

James Birch (jameswallacebirch) | 64 comments All,

I'm happy to give away (PDF, MOBI or EBOOK) or lend via Kindle copies of my book Discontents: The Disappearance of a Young Radical. Send me a message and I will share with you directly.

Amazon rating: 4.5
Goodreads rating: 4

Synopsis below. Contact with any questions.

Synopsis:
Emory is an aimless millennial who refuses to conform. When his anti-corporate Internet ramblings attract a following, he finds unlikely fame and a sense of purpose. But his fame draws the wrong kind of attention. Forced to take on an assumed identity, Emory finds himself trapped by the words he’s written.

When he meets Fletcher, a rich baby boomer longing for youthful idealism, the two embark on a plan to cause mayhem. But Emory soon thinks someone is trying to get between him, Fletcher, and their plans.

Unsure of who to trust, Emory is suspicious of the people who know him best. Having burned every bridge back to the life he once lived, he must find the strength to face the mistakes of his past if he has any chance at a future.

About
Part anti-establishment transgressive fiction, part captivating tale of love, loss and self discovery in an age of social upheaval, part paranoid political mystery, Discontents: The Disappearance of a Young Radical, reads like a literary knife slicing across the tattered seams of America.

In this cult classic, author James Wallace Birch masterfully exposes the hopes and flaws of people and ideologies, cementing his place as a new and exciting voice. The writing is dark and witty, but smart, poignant and insightful. Characters are as dynamic as they are emotionally scarred, and the portrait of the back alleys and rooftops of Washington D.C. is visceral and disturbing.

Backstory
January 2011 was the last time anyone has seen Emory Walden, one of the most notorious political dissidents and graffiti artists hunted by authorities throughout the District of Columbia. Why?

That's the question Emory Walden set out to answer for the public when he contacted a former friend, James Wallace Birch, with a big request: publish my memoir.

This book is Emory’s version of events. It puts to rest the speculation surrounding his disappearance. In it, we see a rare account of a man struggling against amnesia to uncover the nebulous forces that sought to bring him down.

Tom Reppert | 6 comments My novel ASSASSIN 13 launches today and is FREE on Amazon March 16-20th. Would love some reviews!

Assassin 13 is a time travel thriller set in a dystopian future and 1927 Hollywood.

Lauren Ramirez, an Assassin 13, which means she's the best at her profession, is betrayed by her employer, the President of the United States, when she takes a high-rank target job to get information on her mother’s killer. While she's attempting to escape in a space shuttle from his trap, she hurtles through a time displacement anomaly and lands in the glam of 1927 Hollywood.

Lauren finds herself working for one of Hollywood's top actresses, Pauline Windsor, who is dating mafia member Benny Sorrentino. He is caught up in a gangland war with the Colombini brothers for the city's profitable bootlegging and gambling rings. Even as she clings to the revenge for her mother’s death and somehow fixing her broken shuttle to return for the information, Lauren's relationship with the people she meets, stunt pilot Remy Garnett, Pauline, and Pauline's children, all begin to change the hard surface of her heart.

When Pauline's relationship with Sorrentino draws her and her family into the gangland war, Lauren must decide whether to use her 22nd century talents and technology in their defense or abandon them to slip back into her time and get the information she needs to avenge her mother.

Yes, they do. Not all the time. sometimes readers will take the free book and not read or will read it but not review it. I have offered to read for review twice and it worked out for both the author and me.
When I find a post like yours and the book sounds interesting I get and put in my "free for review" collection on my kindle. When I look for my next kindle read I go first to that collection. I sympathize with writers. They put Thierry babies out there and some never hear anything about the books' effect on the readers.
There are a few book for review groups on this site. If you are not a member of a few of these groups, you should look into them. Good luck.

J.L. Gates (goodreadscomjlgates) | 4 comments Hi all,

Here’s another one that could really use some reviews. It is a strange child ― being something of a crossover of thriller, historical fiction, weird romance and Hollywood insider yarn, if that makes any sense. If you feel so inclined I would love to hear how you think it all works.

Here’s the blurb from Amazon:

“Fleeing the collapsing South immediately after the Civil War, two sailors from the Confederate Navy believe they have avoided a hangman’s noose by sailing to Alexandria, Egypt — where, to escape the blistering summer heat, they hole up in the warren of catacombs beneath the city, eventually to discover the bricked-up grave of the infamous 1st Century historian Titus Flavius Josephus. What they discover in that tomb sets into motion a train of events and intrigue spanning a timeline from the 1st Century AD to the 21st Century.

This is not time travel or fantasy. Josephus was an actual historian, a stubborn survivor, a tangible actor in the imperial machinations of the time and a very complex individual who suffered horrible experiences but lived to a ripe old age and survived all of his tormentors (with conjecture that he cut some of their throats). This is his story and it is the first book specifically dedicated to this extraordinary man's life story. The book strictly follows the historical documentation and fictionalizes only when the historical record is silent.”

The opening lines:

“The scrolls of Titus Flavius Josephus (General, Historian, Priest, Traitor, Assassin, Conjurer, Jew — and Messiah) were unearthed on June 23, 1865.

I wasn’t there, and neither were you.

But my kinsman and ancestor was there, and this is his account of those events. I suppose he is just slightly more credible than any of the other conniving scoundrels involved. These include myself, a couple of Roman Emperors, Josephus and possibly another famous messiah who has left a slightly different account on moldy scraps of parchment and papyrus written by equally shifty front-men and barkers, all with distinctive holy agendas. That mish-mash of Greek and Latin documents has come down to us to be known as the Holy Bible. Yes, that Bible.

And as long as we are dropping famous names around, let’s blame the whole mess on Napoleon. Yeah, that one.”

So:

I will be happy to send an email attachment in .mobi or PDF (or whatever else that you might request and that I can actually produce). Or if you are lucky enough to have a Kindle Unlimited account you can download it for free from Amazon at the following location:

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07...

Here’s my email address:

JeffreyLGates@Outlook.com

Thanks in advance for helping out (and congratulations on getting a great one-of-a-kind novel to read in the process).

Oh yeah:

The title of the book is #TrueMessiahs. And yes, that is in hashtag format, but you don’t find out until the very last page why that is so…

James-Beth Merritt | 2 comments My book Bi-Gender: A Candid Nonbinary Memoir just came out in eBook and paperback. I'm happy to provide a few copies if anyone would like to read it and post a frank review. Here's the blurb:

One person--two genders

Somewhere along the line, we got the idea that everybody has exactly one gender. This makes it inconvenient when you find out you don't.

Bi-Gender: A Candid Nonbinary Memoir is James-Beth Merritt's true account of learning to live as both a man and a woman after decades of trying to be the guy everybody expected. How do you reset your marriage and reorient family and friends, let alone navigate your job, your wardrobe, and your sense of who you are? Who should know, and who shouldn't? And what the hell do you do with your hair?

This frank and entertaining memoir, written as the events it brings to life were taking their unexpected course, brings you along with James-Beth to experience the troubles and unexpected joys of living as both male and female. A rare and honest view into one person's non-binary experience, it is above all a story of what happens when you decide that instead of being who everyone expected you to be, you're going to have to be who and what you really are.

M.A. Williamson (authorwill) | 5 comments Looking for honest, blunt and opinionated feedback and reviews to my debut novel, "Anna Bell". Will email a PDF copy to reviewers if they don't have access to Kindle Unlimited, where my novel is presently free.

https://www.amazon.com/Anna-Bell-Some...

Here's a brief synopsis.

Set in the beautiful countryside of Ions Mountain, St. Ann; and Kingston, Jamaica. This novel depicts the life story of Anna Bell, the protagonist; who got molested at the tender age of five years old, which then led to her separation from the persons she knew as family.
She takes you through her life's journey being part of a severely dysfunctional family in rural, St. Ann; to eventually carving out a successful path for herself as a young adult. Amidst the many challenges she has been through; and keeps enduring.
Guarantee to take you on a roller coaster of emotions; this story will undoubtedly inspire anyone to be the best they can be. As they overcome whatever life challenges they maybe going through presently; or will come across later in life. (End)

Brenda Mohammed (brenchris) | 75 comments I have a free book for download on Amazon. Here is a description and the link.
Science fiction and zombie fiction lovers will love Revenge of Zeeka: Zeeka and the Zombies Book 1.
On the island of Gosh in Jan 2036, Raynor is awakened by the sound of robot-like creatures on the beach overlooking his villa,
Was he dreaming or was it a vision?
Raynor is a hospital doctor.
The woman he secretly loves is engaged to another man, and is sleeping in the next room.
Why is she there?
Everything seems hazy to Raynor until he receives a phone call from the hospital's Chief of staff to attend an urgent meeting.
But who is Number Nine?
He says he is a zombie but is he?
He seemed harmless until he said that his Master is Zeeka, he has fifty brothers who look like him, and Zeeka wants revenge.
Why does Zeeka want revenge?
One man knows Zeeka's secrets, but can he stop the bloodshed and save the Islanders in time?
For answers to these questions, you must continue reading each of the books in the mind-blowing series.
Revenge of Zeeka: Zeeka and the Zombies, Book 1, is the engaging introduction to the science fiction series Zeeka Chronicles: Revenge of Zeeka, which consists of five books.
Zeeka and the Zombies Book I, Zeeka's Child Book 2, Zeeka Returns Book 3, Zeeka's Ghost Book 4, and Resurrection Book 5.
Review:
An intriguing start of a promising series.
Format: Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
This is a story about a mad scientist who got really mad. We do not learn about him and his motives much in this book since it's just the first part of the series. Yet Brenda Mohammed shows us the first consequences of his madness in this clever story about a virus outbreak leading to an emergence of strange zombie-like people. The fast pace and amount of action keeps this story thrilling. At the same time, the author manages to give us a glimpse of the main characters' feelings that do not concern the zombies directly. We can observe a young doctor planning her marriage and her admirer's disappointment. This seems to be a plot within the main plot, and it makes this story more complex, the characters easier to relate to, which is not easy to achieve in such a short story that is packed with action. Yet there is a final twist that reveals to us that personal lives of the main protagonists may be infected by Zeeka's influence more than it seems at first glance.
This book leaves many questions unanswered and makes me look forward to reading the sequels. I can even imagine this book as a good movie.
https://www.amazon.com/Revenge-Zeeka-...
I would love some reviews. Revenge of Zeeka Zeeka and the Zombies by Brenda Mohammed

Hello, Vasil. I have read your ebook (Dreams of Fantasy: The Unknown Evil) and I have to say that it was very good! I loved it! The way you describe the events and the beast and the duel is breathtaking. I also liked the coordinates you have put there and to be honest I have checked it in my Google earth application. It happens to point in the black pyramid in Antarctica. Was that on purpose? Also, I didn't quite get the other coordinates. Are those on Earth? Anyway, the book was great and I am looking forward for the next one. Are you planning on writing a sequel or what?

message 2430: by Crystal Dawn (last edited Mar 25, 2018 06:49AM) (new)

Crystal Dawn (crystal_dawn) | 51 comments Hi Everyone,

I have three books to offer as part of a fantasy anthology.

Mirage is the ever-expanding saga of a world under siege. Readers will encounter destructive entities and dark, ancient anomalies that are working to loosen the threads that keep the world from falling apart. They will also witness the power of the human spirit and see the lengths that any man or woman must endure in order to survive.

Each Mirage story represents a small chapter of a much larger narrative that is constantly unfolding. Deriving elements from many genres, including High Fantasy, Dystopian and Western, readers can expect strong character-centric stories set within a tantalising universe of buried secrets and powerful revelations.

Each story can be read in any order, or completely separately from one-another. (I personally recommend going 1) Strife 2) Voice and then 3) Thunder). Each also has bonus website appendices that further expand each and every tale beyond the pages. If any or all of the below books appeal to you, please don't hesitate to contact me or hit reply below and I'd be more than happy to send them to you in any digital format of your choosing.

Strife (A Mirage Novella) by Kevin J.J. Carpenter The Voice of the Wild (A Mirage Short Story) by Kevin J.J. Carpenter The Sound of Thunder (A Mirage Novella) by Kevin J.J. Carpenter
(Please note, the first two books have brand new covers for their revised editions. The third book will be an ARC with it's release scheduled for April 28th, 2018).

Happy reading!
Crystal

Living with Postcards is my only non-fiction book out of the dozen books I’ve written. It’s packed with colour illustrations and describes my close relationship with old postcards. Each card illustrated in the book is from my own large collection. I’ve collected over 2,000 of these charming, quirky, historical items since the 1970s. I gave a talk to Full Circle members at Oldham Coliseum about Living with Postcards in January 2017. Living with Postcards is a beautiful present from the past that anyone can enjoy. It is available on Amazon in paperback and Kindle editions and is free to Kindle Unlimited subscribers.

“The author shares her impressive knowledge of vintage postcards in an entertaining and informative style. Brimming with lovely reproductions, it’s never dull. A book to read from cover to cover or just dip into. Certainly, a book to revisit. Living with Postcards makes an imaginative present, even to someone like me who has no particular interest in postcard collecting. I can thoroughly recommend it.”

Guillermo Stitch | 15 comments My name is Guillermo Stitch and my short novel, Literature®, will be available via Amazon and Kindle from July 1st.

I'm happy (delighted in fact) to provide ARC's in pdf, mobi or epub formats in exchange for advance Goodreads reviews.

It's a science fiction noir. Here's the blurb:

"We don't know exactly when Literature® takes place and we don't know exactly where. All we know is that Philip Marlowe would fit right in.

We don't get Marlowe though. We get Billy Stringer. And Billy is on nobody's trail.

He's the prey.

The day hasn't begun very well for Billy. He just messed up his first big assignment, he's definitely going to be late for work, his girlfriend won't get back to him and, for reasons she has something to do with, he's dressed like a clown.

Also, he's pretty sure someone is going to kill him today. But then, that's an occupational hazard, when you're a terrorist.

He's a bookworm too, which wouldn't be a problem–or particularly interesting–except that in Billy's world, fiction is banned. Reading it is what makes him an outlaw.

Why? Because people need to get to work.

It's fight or flight time for Billy and he's made his choice. But he has to see Jane, even if it's for the last time–to explain it all to her, before she finds out what he has become. That means staying alive for a little while.

And the odds are against him...."

Although this is my fiction debut, my work has already garnered praise when privately workshopped with published authors, none of whom were friends of mine. Examples:

"A fine, engaging, playful and original piece of work." Charles Boyle, author of The Age of Cardboard and String and owner of CB Editions, a leading small press in the U.K.

"The most astounding thing I've read in years." Matt Dennison, Rattle, Monkey Puzzle, Gargoyle Magazine.

"Better than Anthony Burgess at his utter best." James Lloyd Davis, Eric Hoffer Prose Award

"Groovy language - a delight to read." Penny Goring, leading light in British Altlit.

Victoria Wallin | 24 comments Hello,

I have a new feelgood novella series out about dogs, new friendships, taking control of your life, and a splash of romance! The first part of the series is free and I would love some honest reviews for it!

A Dog in the Manger Part One by Victoria Wallin

Synopsis: Trish inherits a dog from her aunt that passed away. She doesn't know anything about dogs but she'd be damned if she'd let her goody two-shoes cousin Jules sweep in and save the day, like she always did. Neat freak, work-o-holic Trish is up for quite a challenge, and it will change her life in many unexpected ways.

Part two is out to pre-order for 99c/99p to be released in July.

JOHN COLWELL (johncolwell2) | 1 comments I have a limited number of print and epub copies of the New Historical Romance Novel by Linda Colwell "Cry of the Brethren" that are free for those who are willing to provide reivews on the book. Its a Historical Romance set back in the 1840's in the Northern Michigan Winter. Here is the blurb about it.

Jessie Trent, stolen from her wedding altar, finds herself a fugitive from the Brethren and her fate in the hands of a buckskin-clad stranger and his raiding party.
Lucas Wakefield realizes he’s put the frightened young woman in danger when he saved her from the cruel fate as Oram Doud’s latest victim. With the Brethren of the Aaronites cult in angry pursuit, he escapes with his prize over frozen Lake Michigan and deep into the mainland.
Hiding out in an isolated cabin, the couple is forced to spend the bitter winter in close confinement. As the cold nights grow longer, Jessie soon finds herself falling in love with her mysterious kidnapper.
Lucas didn’t plan on becoming enamored of the beautiful woman and fights the growing need to claim her for his own.
Their happiness is threatened by a jealous woman and a cult determined to exact revenge. The winds of fate converge threatening to destroy everything they’ve built. Against all odds, Lucas must fight to save Jessie from the Cry of the Brethren?

TRUE SON is a fictional account of what could very well happen in the near future.

For U.S. President Royal T. Kingley, life at the top of the world isn’t quite what he’d expected. From his surprise electoral college victory and crushing defeat in the national popular vote to his record-low inauguration attendance and abysmal approval ratings, things couldn’t possibly get much worse for the once quasi-respected real estate tycoon-cum-braggadocious TV reality show host. Until now.

Amidst a full-scale investigation into possible collusion between his campaign and a hostile foreign nation, fiery public protests against his flagrant abuse of executive power, the simmering threat of nuclear war, and a seemingly endless string of leaks threatening to sink his administration from within, President Kingley faces his greatest challenge yet when his son-in-law and chief advisor, Jacob Latner, is abducted by a master of enhanced interrogation, known only by the code name “True Son.”

Haunted by the specter of his charismatic predecessor, whose essence lingers in every corner of the White House, and desperate to prove his presidential prowess once and for all, the President accepts True Son's challenge: a "face to face" showdown on live TV that is certain to be a ratings bonanza. But with the clock ticking and the entire world watching, can the man who once railed against the "rigged system" secure his first executive victory in a contest that actually is rigged against him?

While the media scrutinizes every angle of the event and White House staffers scramble to contain the volatile Commander in Chief, an ex CIA agent joins forces with a brilliant young gaming tech to track down the terrorist's signal before time runs out. In contrast to all the chaos, an eerie gathering is taking place in the bitterly night outside. Hundreds of kids, from high schoolers all the way down to kindergartners, have converged on the nation's Capitol in silent vigil to witness the shocking revelation of True Son.

Enter the giveaway for a chance to win one of 100 copies available.

(Offer runs from 18 May 2018 to 8 June 2018.)

Elysia Strife | 6 comments Hey everyone!

I am looking for reviews of my debut novel: Stellar Fusion (book 1 of the Infinite Spark series. I can send an Amazon link for a free eBook download to anyone interested.

Lost Souls (book 2) will publish fall 2018. I would love to hear what more readers think of Stellar Fusion. I'll be doing ARC for Lost Souls in late summer.

Stellar Fusion (Infinite Spark Book 1) by Elysia Lumen Strife
It’s been a decade since the first attack. This time, they’re taking everything… and everyone.
Earth's only hope is a small team of peace-keepers on a suicide mission to infiltrate the mother ship and relay critical defense information home.

"...a fascinating and enjoyable read." ─Readers' Favorite (5 stars)

It’s been a decade since the first attack. This time, they’re taking everything… and everyone.

The Suanoan Empire possesses a brutal hatred of all life not their own, experimenting on each new species they encounter and discarding the slaves as fast as they’re collected. An original species of the universe, their power is ruthless and their thirst for blood, insatiable.

Earth, still patching itself together from the 300 Years War, is severely unprepared and outnumbered when the invasion hits. Their only hope is a small team of peace-keepers on a suicide mission to infiltrate the mother ship and relay critical defense information home.

Sergeant Nakio Atana is the Universal Protectors’ elite assassin, and holds within, a spark of unimaginable power. But a daring escape from an enemy ship knocked the first fifteen years of her life into darkness, leaving her with only inexplicable apathy and technical knowledge beyond Earth’s evolution.

She is the tip of their spear.

Sergeant Jameson Bennett must guard her with his life.

Together, Atana and Bennett lead the team in hopes her knowledge, and his crew’s skills, will render them a soft spot in the Suanoan armor. What they find when they reach the mother ship is entirely unexpected. The truth they uncover will challenge the code they live by and set in motion events that change the future of Earth and their concepts of the power within.

I'm a cross-genre fiction writer: scifi, military, fantasy, and romance. So there are alternate futures, guns, aliens, magic, lusty curves and muscles in my books.

I write dreamy, dystopian scifi. Contradiction, I know. Nothing hard/historical about it.

Please feel free to friend me here on GR and/or message if you'd like! I would love to connect with other scifi peeps (authors and readers)!

Hope y'all are having a great day! Thanks!

-Elysia
