Jade Jones | 0 comments Feeling as though I were floating in mid-air, my captor lifted me off my feet and carried me towards his vehicle. Without compassion, he tossed me inside like a flimsy rag doll. The back of my skull smacked against the padded surface. I barely felt that pain.
With what little strength I had left, I made a daring attempt to escape. I quickly found out that was a bad decision after my fingers were smashed with the trunk’s lid.
That, I did feel.
I wanted to scream, but the only thing that came out was a low-pitched whimper. My eyelids fluttered rapidly as I battled unconsciousness. Whatever I was shot with had rendered me speechless and immobile.
My gaze focused on the fuzzy man standing over me. Even with my blurred vision, I could tell that he was smiling at me—obviously pleased that I was helpless.
In silence, I watched as he lifted his index finger to his lips. “Ssshh.”
Suddenly, everything went black…

Mandy (mandyrosko) | 3 comments Paranormal romance,

I'm looking for reviewers for my first book in The Things in the Night Series, The Vampire's Curse. I'll be offering free copies for anyone willing to give an honest review :) The Vampire's Curse (Things in the Night, #1) by Mandy Rosko

I can provide you with a PDF, Mobi, and a Kindle file, but not in print at the moment since I'm putting some money into a print giveaway this month already.

Private message me if interested, or send me an email at a_rosko@hotmail.com with The Vampire's Curse in the subject line :)

-Mandy Rosko

In a city that cannot be found on any map that is inhabited entirely by witches, warlocks, vampires, and werewolves, Kyle McKane is seeking a cure for a curse that turns him into a blood hungry vampire during the night, and leaves him an exhausted, sleep deprived human during the day.

Jackie Moore is probably the worst witch in the city apart from her ability to heal wounds and illnesses with a touch of her lips. She rarely sees outsiders and is stunned to come face to teeth with Kyle when he finally succumbs to his hunger and attempts to bite her.

Instead she grabs him by the ears and kisses away his curse before he can sink his fangs into her. The problem is that the cure is only temporary until Kyle turns again the next night, and then goes out in search of Jackie so that she can help him, whether she wants to or not

Benjamin Long | 1 comments Hello Readers, I would like to post my horror fantasy book Darkness Saga for available review. It is a fantasy novel revolving around the themes of the Ragnarok. It starts out as a vampire novel because I was so ticked off about the nefarious Twilight saga, so I wrote a book about vampires and supernatural creatures more fitting. I can go on a rant why I hate the above mentioned, but I would rather ask for a review on my book. message me and I will send a digital copy in exchange for a review.

Most of all, I hope you enjoy the story!

DESCRIPTION of the book:
In the tradition of the greatest love stories of our time, COME FIND ME tells a poignant tale of how true love can survive time and war, and push people to confront unthinkable choices.

At twenty-six Jessica Wilson believes her future is laid out. Her father and brother-in-law both died in war, and now she’s helping to care for her mother and her sister’s children. She’s also managing a wildlife rescue center in the Georgia mountains, where she met her wealthy Canadian fiancé, Blake McCormack, a rancher. Everything seems perfect. So why is it that she breaks into a sweat whenever she pictures Blake announcing their engagement at his parent’s annual rodeo?

Jessica is doing a good job of ignoring her doubts until Mark Fripp, the boy she fell in love with ten years ago, shows up on his motorcycle to fulfill his mother’s dying wish. What really happened when he disappeared from her life? What secret is he hiding for fear that she won’t accept him for who he is? And will she still be able to move forward with the life she has planned, even after she knows the truth?

T.R. Sutherland | 1 comments The Number of the House is 13: A Short Ghost Story

Hello,

I recently published my first short story The Number of the House is 13, a YA short ghost story. If anyone would like to review it, please let me know.

Excerpt:
We moved more slowly now. The stillness was something frightful, and the cold grew more and more intense. Soon we stopped before a tall, narrow house that rose before us like some vast monster in the center of the street. For a full minute we stared dumbly at the dark scene, paralysis attacking every sense but that of sight. The house was faced with great blank staring windows which the moonlight struck unafraid. The walls were covered with dirty patches and wide yellow streaks where the blistering paint had fallen away. There was not a sign of life; the house was wrapped in an unsettling, absolute stillness.

After a moment's reflection, Jett ascended the front steps; I trailed in silence, looking over my shoulders to make sure we were not followed. When I turned around, I found myself faced with a huge, menacing door that seemed to be pushing us away as it looked us over with a contemptuous sneer. Jett fumbled nervously for a long time with the key before he could fit it into the lock at all. And, as we stood there on the threshold of our ghostly adventure, we were transported to a place where only monsters or demons in a child's wonder tale could exist, creatures that only dared to come out under the cover of darkness. I felt the creep of indefinable terror, and for a moment, hoped the door would not open.

Sue Taylor (suetaylor) | 10 comments Dance of the Robin
Hi everyone, looking for honest reviews for my book. It is aimed at a teen market but most of my reviews have been from adults and they seemed to have enjoyed it. The story is not about a Robin, as the title may suggest, but more about the Robins meaning, (time for new beginnings)and friendship. My book will be free on Amazon on Friday 18th April and Sat 19th April. Alternatively anyone interested can contact me on susanexpectmiracles@gmail.com and I will be happy to forward a copy.

Michael Selden | 12 comments The Boy Who Ran by Michael Selden

I'm willing to send several books out in exchange for honest reviews. I'd like to make sure that this is the kind of book you would find interesting first.

It's a Middle Grade short novel (160 pages total). One editor told me the feel of the novel was like a cross between The Giver and Hatchet—I've not read Hatchet, but after his comment, I read The Giver. There is some feel in that sense, but it is a different book. The target audience was 10 and up. I didn't dumb down the word choices, but I told the story in a straight forward way to avoid confusing younger readers.

I'd suggest looking at the description and excerpt from the book on line and even visiting my web site, where I have more on the book (including unpublished chapters).

A link to the GoodReads description is here:

The Boy Who Ran

and a link to the web site where I have additional details is here

http://michaelselden.com

As an aside, I've also begun posting chapters from the book I plan to release this next fall, a YA speculative fiction called The Balance. Those chapters are also posted on my web site—there is a tab menu at the top of the page to find that book's description. It will probably be a 500 - 600 page book.

Reading these may also help you decide if you like the style I write in to avoid my wasting your time.

Its style is different than The BoyWho Ran, but as with everything I do, I use professional editors and try to make sure the writing is good and tight as well.

I prefer to mail paperbacks copies and will allocate as many as 10 copies for this exercise. Contact me through the GoodReads mail.

S.W. Fairbrother (swfairbrother) The Secret Dead by S.W. Fairbrother

Hi all,

I'm looking for reviewers for my novel, The Secret Dead. It's an urban fantasy based in London and I'd be grateful for any and all honest reviews.

It's not yet available in paper, but I'd be happy to email it to you in your preferred format, or give you a Smashwords coupon.

Blurb:

Vivia Brisk knows about the dead. She should. She’s died enough times.

Vivia is a hag – or death witch – one of the last of her race, and can die, visit the underworld and return at will. As a consultant with charity The Lipscombe Trust, she has a job she loves - helping London’s most vulnerable supernaturals, even if her colleague Malcolm drives her round the bend on a daily basis.

Vivia thinks she’s got Malcolm’s measure – sexist, not too bright and generally a pain in the ass, but then Malcolm zombifies and, along with his fourteen year old son Ben, flees the police.

With a zombie on the loose, London goes into lock down and Vivia is roped in into find them. After all, Malcolm can only keep control so long without fresh flesh, and the risk of the zompocalypse increases the longer he’s on the lam.

At first what happened seems simple, but then the police find decades-old corpses hidden near Malcolm’s house, and Vivia begins to realise Malcolm’s missing son is in a lot more danger than from just a single zombie on the loose…

Marla Josephs | 14 comments Alexander Ranch is free today! This is a fast paced, light, suspenseful, romantic read. Click the link below to get your free download. Please post reviews on GR and Amazon. And, thanks so much for reading!

Description: I tried not to look at the men so that I could focus on keeping my movements silent. I certainly did not want to be detected. It was impossible, however, to keep my eyes completely off the terrifying drama unfolding before me. I was certain they planned to kill the man and I had no way of helping him. The best I could do was get to safety and call the police. I had slunk my way to the left of them and was right alongside the river now. I crept along keeping a wary eye on the men. I don’t know whether I gasped, screamed, or made a sudden movement, but suddenly both sets of eyes of the evil men turned towards me just as the shot sounded. I ran as fast as I could, ignoring the ripping pain in my side, and jumped off the edge into the rushing water below.

Joseph Taylor | 8 comments Hello everybody!! :D

Here I present the first book of the We Three trilogy, a sci-fi thriller in which humankind evolved with THREE different biological sexes instead of two! (kind of strange setting for a thriller!! :D)

The story tells about about the life of Dr. Lyin Lawrence, whose New York apartment had been burnt in 2033 in an attempt to murder hom. (hOm, not hIm, as there are no males/females! ^^)

A mixture of thriller, romance and fantasy, in this first novel we will come to know how the world would have been if humankind had evolved in such a drastically different way.

Dr. Lawrence is the inventor of the GAIAA Protocol, the cure for the lethal Early Killer Diseases epidemic that flooded in the world back in 2015. But now somebody is after Dr. Lawrence for still unknown reasons and hon must live hidden from everybody while writing hor memoir.

What happened in Dr. Lawrence's life that brought hom to hor discovery? Why are there people who still hate hom? Will they find whom is after hom?

It is still free ONLY FOR TODAY at Amazon: http://amzn.to/1hMTCr5

As a youth, Luke never gave a thought as to what he would become when he became a man.
When the headaches became so severe, he had to leave his only known home and return to another--a place forgotten as a child. Not wanting to accept the reasons he was sent there, he soon learned his new friends were in the same boat with him. Soon, time arose that they were forced to seek out the old Indian man, Luther. But they found far more than they bargained for when Luther told them they had been chosen by to become something impossible; a wolf. With nowhere to hide from the pain that followed, they finally became what they were meant to be--Waya's Chosen.

The Cinderella Theorem
By Kristee Ravan
YA Fantasy
Description: (From Amazon.com)
Fairy tales are naturally non-mathematical. That is a fact, and fifteen-year-old Lily Sparrow loves factual, mathematical logic. So when her mother confesses that Lily’s deceased father is (a) not dead, (b) coming to dinner, and (c) the ruler of a fairy tale kingdom accessible through the upstairs bathtub, Lily clings to her math to help her make sense of this new double life (1 life in the real world + 1 secret life in the fairy tale world = a double life).

Even though it’s not mathematical, Lily finds herself being pulled into a mystery involving an unhappy Cinderella, a greasy sycophant called Levi, and a slew of vanishing fairy tale characters. Racing against the clock, with a sound mathematical plan, can Lily save her fairy tale friends before they vanish forever?

I can be contacted at jmravan@gmail.com
Thank you!

Marla Josephs | 14 comments Alexander Ranch is free today! This is a fast paced, light, suspenseful, romantic read. Click the link below to get your free download. Please post reviews on GR, Amazon and Smashwords.

Monica Pierce (monicaenderlepierce) | 10 comments Hi Goodreaders (and writers):

I'm in need of honest reviews for my newly released historical fantasy novel: Famine (Book One of The Apocalyptics) by Monica Enderle Pierce .

Brief description:
The Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse have escaped their bonds and only two damaged souls can capture them.
Matilde is a troubled child with a fierce will to survive. Bartholomew is a fifteen hundred-year-old warrior who’s lost his freedom, his faith, and everyone he’s ever loved.
She must learn to trust. He must learn to love again.
The fate of every soul depends upon them.

Note:
This is a gritty, noir-ish fantasy set in the Edwardian era. It contains sex, violence, cursing, knives, guns, smoking, death, and bowler hats. It may not be suitable for children under 18 or sensitive readers. (I'm not known for fluffy-bunny sunshiny stories.)

If you're interested in receiving a review copy, please send me a message via Goodreads. I have epub and mobi files available.

Thanks!

Monica Enderle Pierce

Author: Alex A. King
Title: Seven Days of Friday
Genre: Women's Fiction

Hi, I'm looking for honest reviews for my novel Seven Days of Friday. I'm happy to provide you with a .Mobi, .ePub, or .PDF copy. Shoot me a message if you're interested!

Description:

Seven Days of Friday opens with Days of the Week underwear and closes with a forty-year-old secret that refuses to stay submerged.

Thirty-four-year-old Vivi Tyler is living her nightmare: gay husband, self-harming teenager, melodramatic mother. They’re picking apart her sanity, one stitch at a time. She’s crawling along rock bottom when the arrival of a mysterious package opens a new door to a new country. A desperate Vivi dives headfirst into the quicksand that is Greece—her parents’ birthplace.

But it’s a paradise far from perfect, and instead of the new beginning she covets, Vivi discovers trouble is determined to keep her in its pocket. Soon she’s fighting for her daughter’s life in a Greek hospital, clashing with her Greek relatives, and cobbling together an inadequate cage around her heart, lest she fall for an unavailable man.

Before this story ends, somebody will be dead. And if some people are to be believed, this particular death is a good thing. A blessing, of sorts . . . .
