R6: Team #3 ~ Triple Dog Dare Ya

When I get back home on a real computer and my hi-speed internet, will try again. I swear I read 8% of my book waiting for this thing to go from page 28 to 29!

I'm checking out until stops lagging except for sporadically updating reading progress. Book looks like will be moving fast even if likely more action and violence than I usually go for. Worldbuilding interesting; infodumps not so much.

Not you; latest goodreads updates giving iPad problems.

Review: This was another one of those series I had heard so very much about that I did go into with some expectations. Expectations of repetitive phrases and infodumps but also of a lot of fast paced action and unique worldbuilding--all true although worldbuilding on the lite side. It did keep my attention throughout the read, so overall I liked. I put a fuller review on book's page.
A lot of it came across as here's a good story with potentially good elements but it's being put on as a play where everyone is over-acting badly. Everything was very heavy-handed and pounded into the reader, even without the infodumps, foreshadowing and easy clues (halfway thru almost all the clues to resolve were given in one eavesdropping session on the bad guys who had already conveniently done things like give out business cards with real names and addresses). Gin, while kickass, was really written too unbelievably kickass (cue special effects and Mr./Mrs. Smith style weapons hiding and fighting).
On the fence about finishing series. All the accurate expectations other friends and reviewers gave indicate gets better (although the repetitive and infodump and "Mmm" don't seem to go away). It did end, while not cliffhanger, with a new twist to followup that I am somewhat curious about. I did like Gina and she's not a cookie cutter character.
The kindle edition I read had an excerpt from the March 2013 new release in series that I read thinking was excerpt of book 2 without realizing was the newest--so on the one hand I see that the series has progressed and author seems to have gotten the swing of writing the thing without the heavyhanded, overacted, send in the stuntman for some complicated bit of action, failings of this first one; on the other hand I certainly got a hold of some series spoilers that might actually ruin parts of the series for me by taking away the element of surprise.

I enjoyed this book a lot. It was an easy quick fun read. Full of mystery, secrets and backstabbing. Similar but different from the tv series too, which is nice. I do recommend!

Ryodan is a riot! Hehe.

Christmas Pride
This first story in this book concentrates on Dez and Mace. Mace has just retired from the Navy and returned to New York where he's planning to open a security business with his friend Smitty. He has also decided to finally make his childhood crush Dez his woman. Dez is a retired marine who is now working as a cop in New York. She's currently trying to solve a shifter murder and even the thought of a committed relationship sends her straight into panic mode.
Shaw's Tail
This picks up Shaw's story, where it left off in Christmas Pride. Recovering from his ordeal, the lion shifter soon lays eyes on Ronny, a She-Wolf and can't think about anything else but making her his. Ronny is a wild child though, who doesn't mind a sexy romp, but a relationship is not for her. While trying to convince her otherwise, Shaw also has to deal with finding out about what's going on with his younger brother.
I really enjoyed both of the stories. They are full of crazy characters, Laurenston's sarcastic humour, violence and a lot of hot & steamy scenes. I'm looking forward to some of the side characters own stories, as they were quite an interesting and funny bunch.

10/30/12 4* Demon shelf
I love this series, Ms. Mead pulls no punches and doesn't hold back anything. The characters are very well rounded and deep. Richelle runs Georgina through hell in each book and this one is no exception, you truly understand in each book that Georgina is a tortured soul and even though she is a very likable character you come to understand that being a succubus isn't all fun and games.

My Review:
While listening to this story through Dani's POV could be a bit taxing at times I was still back in the Fever World! I've always liked Ryodan and loved the parts with him. Also what will end up happening with Christian is killing me! In this one Dublin is getting iced and Ryodan enlists Dani's help to try and stop it before the whole city is dead. This was nowhere near as good as The Fever Books but then what is?

11/1/12 5* Fav. series shelf
First I am going to start off by saying that I am so sad that this series has come to an end. And secondly, I am going to miss the characters in these novels! I really enjoyed this last installment of the Kincaid series. It had a happy ending with everything that Georgina could have wanted, and it was a good feeling to end the book on a good note, even if it was bitter sweet.

They're sniffing a possible game ending shelf.

I really enjoy this series and will be reading the next two installments shortly.
I love the fact that Mercy and Adam get more time in this book and that the pack dynamics play a vital role again. These books just keep getting better.
Mercy is one of my favourite heroine. To me she's right up there with Kate Daniels and Chess from the Downside Series.

LOL, not surprisingly, with books whose ratings says everyone was enjoying, the reads went quicker.

Good Job!! :D

Apparently I already read a lot of "dark fantasy" books; who knew.

Duh, yes. I was imagining stamped colored spaces and somehow counted wrong.
