I've read the first three, so I'm working on the others. They are very fun to read.

Book: At Grave's End by Jeaniene Frost
Shelf: Favorite Series
Rating: ★★★
Date Read: 08-11-12
Review:
I really liked that the violence in this books was upped a notch. Makes it stand out among the almost PNR-ish UF novels out there. Still can't see any chemistry between Cat and Bones. Tate's just beginning to annoy me now. Vlad too just had to lust after Cat. I don't get why every male has to do that, in order to be in the book.

Don't stress yourself out - it's just a game and a fun way to

I'm a big fan of the Downside ghosts series but this one didn't pull me in as much as the others did but I don't really know why.
When trouble starts in downside with drugs being passed around that turns people into mindless killing machines. Chess has to figure out where the trouble is coming from while dealing with her own problems.
She has to manage her relationship with Terrible (who I still love!), her drug addiction and a shock discovery from her favourite elder at the church.
I will still be reading the next in the series.

Book: Storm Front by Jim Butcher
Shelf: Dark Fantasy
Rating: ★★★
Date Read: 09-11-12
Review:
So, maybe I was expecting a lot from this book. It read like Simon Green's series' elder brother. A lot of "telling" going on-maybe its a guy thing cuz I found the Nightside books to be the same way. Both characters are really similar too and I'm thinking I should hold off reading the others in this series, at least till I finish Nightside.

Of course, now that I see that the new shelf gives us a four in a row, I'll read that after Dark Awakening.
I'm not sure what I'll be reading for 2012. There's a few YA books that I'm wanting to read -- or it might be one of these three:

I9 : Demons - Summoning the Night by Jenn Bennett - ★★★★★ - 10 Nov 12
Around Halloween, thirty years ago, seven children were snatched. The kidnapper was never caught and no bodies were found. And now, it seems to be happening again.
Cady and Lon are asked by Ambrose Dare, leader of the Hellfire Club, to solve this new crisis. He has a suspicion of who might have been behind the kidnappings 30 years ago, and since no one was caught, he thinks a former, disgruntled member of the Hellfire Club could be the culprit.
With no real evidence and very few leads, Cady and Lon have a near-impossible task and very little time to solve the mystery.
One of my favorite things about this book was how easily Cady has fit into the lives of the Butlers. Jupe adores her and she can't help love him back -- which is probably one of the main reasons Lon's in love with her. Cady's not used to being close to people, but she adapted quickly.
The mystery truly was an uphill battle for Cady and Lon. With so little to work with, I thought Dare's impatience and anger at Cady was unjustified. Neither Cady nor Lon are trained investigators and they had to rely on less-than-trustworthy persons for the leads they do uncover. To me, it seemed liked he expected her snap her fingers and she'd have the answers.
I'm looking forward to seeing more of Cady, Lon, and Jupe in the future.

Hi, Midu!
I'm off to see if I can get a few more chapters read before going to bed. :)

Carlyn: Lord's Fall
Midu: Bitter Seeds
AH:On Dublin Street Rating:★★★.5 review
Christina: Black Lament
Juana: Happy Ever After
Amelia: Fair Game

I think I will go with Black Lament for 2012.

This was an OK read for me until the second half of the book. On Dublin Street is the story of a young woman who has not dealt with the death of her family very well. Eight years after their death, she cannot bring herself to talk about them or even open herself up to any kind of relationship. Enter Braden Carmichael, a hunk of a Highlander serial dater who walks in on Joss in her bathroom where she is bathing - yup she's naked. He's instantly attracted to her, even though she's not really his type.
Usually when I read a romance novel, the "chase" is the part that I enjoy. Not so in this novel. Joss just doesn't want to get close to anyone even though her inner voice is jumping at the chance. Finally Joss and Braden come to "an arrangement." I had to roll my eyes at that one, but that's the point where the hot and steamy times begin. And these two are on fire.
I absolutely adored Ellie, Braden's stepsister and Joss' roommate. She was too wonderful for words and a great friend to Joss. I think I got more emotionally invested when I read her part of the story.

Book: Bitter Seeds by Ian Tregillis
Shelf: 2012
Rating: ★★★★
Date Read: 13-11-12
Review:
This was the most creepiest book I've ever read! It made me cringe or wince on every page and I loved every bit. The author makes you hate him the way he writes about how children are treated and people too. But then wars aren't supposed to be pretty, I guess. Gretel..hated her and wanted to strangle her before she ruined any more lives! Can't wait to read the next one but I'm going to wait a long looooooooooong time before I dare to do that!

I've already started my 2012 book :)

Shelf: Dark Fantasy
Rating: 3.5 Stars

Kate Daniels is a mercenary who cleans up after magical problems in the city, she's rather an unlucky person. She is a very likeable character and I enjoyed her story. Her guardian is murdered and she sets out to solve the mystery and avenge his murder. The necromancers and the shapechangers are blaming each other for a bunch of bizarre killings and Kate is caught in the middle. It's a good story though sometimes a little hard to follow but nonetheless I did enjoy it.

G18 : 2012 - Black Lament by Christina Henry - ★★★★ - 12 Nov 12
It's difficult to talk about this book because of the spoilers for the previous book. Black Howl is probably my favorite, so far, and I'd been looking forward to seeing where the story went.
The book picks up exactly were the previous one ended and it encompasses only a few days, but a lot does happen in that time frame. Maddy makes even more enemies who want to kill her. Not every new person she comes across is out to get her though. She meets some one who's just as wily as Lucifer and has his own agenda.
Maddy is a little ruthless in this book. She's fed up with the manipulation and the attacks. She does some drastic things, but she has a strong motivation. I wonder if this is part of Lucifer's plan for her.
There was one character that I was surprised by: Nathaniel. He's no longer the smug, jerk from the earlier books. He's had many doses of reality lately. I don't think he has any hidden agenda -- Lucifer has tasked him to help protect Maddy and failure isn't an option, so keeping her alive is in his own best interest. He proves that he's got her back several times in this book.
I'm looking forward to book 5.

You now have an updated BINGO card with a stamp on 'demons'.

Good Job!! :D

It's a relief to be caught up -- only one book to read! :) And Charley's so crazy -- I didn't want to stop reading long enough to write/post the Black Lament review. I might not get around to writing/posting the Dark Awakening review tomorrow. ;-)
Now, a quick shower and maybe some reading before bed.

I'm well. Busy, but doing well. ;)

awww..will you be reading the rest of the series?
@Christina:
brainy lol"
Maybe, I haven't decided yet. I did like the characters.

Review: It's been a while since Parker Brown's parents died. And she still feels pain. But now Parker has her friends and Vows her marriage business. So with that keeping Parker busy she doesn't have time for love. Her Brother Delany's friend thinks the same, but put both in a room together. Fireworks. Others see the love that grows between Malcolm and Parker. But Parker doesn't like getting close to anyone because of the loss of her parents. So when Malcolm forces her to see what the problem is Parker is scared and runs away from the pain. What will happen to Parker if she doesn't face what scares her the most? Will love break down Parker's walls? Will Malcolm still love her after pushing him away?

It's a winning shelf for Team 10, if they get all the stamps they need.
