Thanks Steph! Yay only one left! I just finished Really Unusual Bad Boys and wasn't too impressed. It was ok, but kind of cheesy, I thought. I generously gave it 3 stars.
Anthologies are always hit or miss for me. Some authors should just stay away from them, IMO.Do you read her Queen Betsy series? Her latest is one of my "quit smoking" books.

I've only read the first book, and thought it was pretty good. I wasn't in a rush to get to the next one, though I do plan on reading more in the series.
I actually really enjoyed the beginning books in the series. But, eventually, Betsy started gettin' on my last nerve. She does not deserve Eric. I have NO idea how everyone puts up w/her; she should be called Queen of Self-Centeredness. <-- is that even a word? Fits though. LOL!

LOL! I hear ya, I can't seem to make myself stop. I really like her roomie friend - can't remember his name. One of the latest books spent a lot of time on him and that made it a bit better for me.
I'm the same way, It takes quite a bit for me to quit reading a book or series. I'm always thinking "it'll get better, how can it get worse".
Yep, I know the feeling. It's just so hard for me to stop something once I get started. I feel like I have to finish it because, well crap, I've already put the time into it, it would feel like a waste if I didn't at least finish it!
Judithe wrote: "I'm so like that, too...so not even starting with Betsy!"LOL - Don't do it! It starts a vicious cycle!
Judithe wrote: "Yep...I'm there with Anita, though still like her at moments!"LOL - That's another series I don't know why I bother with! I'm only on book 3 and I'm not sure what the hype is. I've found them to be just OK. Nothing earth shattering.
When they first came out, there wasn't much else like them. Guilty Pleasures came out in '93, and before that were Rice's vamps, but those are fairly different. (Have loved vamps since Dracula, and had a bookstore bud with the same passion when I was in uni~he always helped me find new ones, even though there was nothing like the amount out now...). So, I guess I think of Anita as my proto-kick-ass-heroine; then the books got really sexed up...and we don't see much of the kick-ass part anymore (and a LOT of readers got sick of it). Anyway, I keep reading, but they are not on my "pre-order-as-soon-as-the-author-even-hints-of-a-new-book" list anymore.
Valorie I thought the first three of Anita Blake were just okay but starting at #5 Bloody Bones the series becomes amazing. One of the best I have read. I am up to 11 or 12 (Obsidian Butterfly) and it is only hinting at going downhill yet. In my opinion most series don't give that sort of pay off. I am okay if if goes down hill at this point. I was given about 6 amazing and creative books!
Book #3 (Circus of the Damned?) was where it clicked with me and I've since read up to Obsidian Butterfly. I've really enjoyed all nine but that's where I'm stopping. It finished quite nicely (view spoiler) so I decided to end with fond memories instead of hating it since I know I wouldn't like the direction it heads in :)
Great thanks guys! I'm definitely going to keep going with the series. I liked them, I just wasn't like.."OMG I can't wait to read the next one!" I'm glad to hear they get better, but sad to hear they head back downhill!
Congrats to all the finishers so far!24/24 Done Yay!
