I recently finished two really great books:
and
. I'd never heard of either author before coming across these titles, but I'm impressed.
I'm reading Arranged by Catherine McKenzie. It's women's fiction, not romance, about a woman who screws up every relationship and picks the wrong guys all the time and then decides to use professional matchmakers to find a husband. It's great so far. I can definitely recommend it.
Currently reading
.Generally enjoying it so far!
It was a free download on Amazon so I thought, what the heck.
I just finished
. I thought it was going to be a light hearted millionaire/hired mistress story. It was that and a whole lot more. Much more emotion and serious themes than the title and blurb suggest.

I was surprised by how much I enjoyed this book. It's better than a lot of the harlequin books I've paid for ;)
Finished Waking Up Married yesterday, and it was definitely a good way to spend some hours! :)So many books on my TBR list, don't know where to go next...
Maybe horror? lol

Y'all made me get this from Amazon today LOL
Still reading The Accursed Kings series by Maurice Druon, on book 4~The Royal Succession. Great historical fiction series recommended by George R.R. Martin (A Game of Thrones). It has put me in the mood for more so I think I may also start
.
I just finished
and like most of the later books in this series my review is mixed. I can't quite Anita Blake because even though she gets on my nerves; I'm still fascinated by her. Laurell K. Hamilton always includes thought provoking life philosophy in her novels that keep me coming back.
Tamekia wrote: "Just began Rush by Maya Banks (Breathless Trilogy)...."I read that and its sequel (Fever). I haven't picked up Burn yet.
I'm only one chapter in and I'm finding the writing style a bit too descriptive and long-winded and the hero/ine havent met each other in present day yet, just backstory so far. I love second chance love stories so hoping it gets better once they meet.
I just finished
and it blew my mind. Now I am actually interested in reading other motorcycle club books. I think any fans of the Medlov series could get into this because it is gritty and dark. Deuce is so unredeemable at times but it makes perfect sense for an outlaw biker to be like this.
I took a break from
because it was boring me. Read
today. Liked it but didn't love it as much as the previous books 2 books in this series.

I'm almost done with
.@ Paganalexandria~ If you're looking for a similar MC book it should be right up your alley. It's crazy.
Just finished and pleasantly surprised by
and
. Fair warning, these are explicit erotica that feature a main hetero couple but also includes m/m, f/f and group sex. The appeal for me is that they are set in a dystopian future that is very interestingly conceptualized and the big cast of characters are well drawn and also very interesting.

@Clay, I am totally reading this next! Thanks.
M.A. wrote: "thanks for mentioning this! i've never read a mc book, but the reviews were good and the sample was interesting so silly me decided to buy it late last night. ended up reading it in one straight shot, and today i'm a zombie lol "
Hahaha M.A. I'm glad you liked it. It kept being mentioned in a couple of my other groups and happy I took a chance. Bikers in real life kind of scare me. When younger there used to a lot of Banditos that frequented a bar I worked at the time. There were nice enough, tipped well, and real flirty but always seemed too much for me to handle. Yet, I find the outlaw biker utterly fascinating. Anytime a documentary or a Gangland episode featuring them comes on I'm glued to the screen. I love bad boys, from a distance. LOL
I'm still literally PLOWING through Kristen Ashley books. LOVING her stuff, even though it is pretty formulaic at times. But hey, it seems to work for the most part. Only came across one alpha of hers that I really didn't like (Tack..ugh. Rubbed me wrong). btw, if anybody has a copy of Raid, let me know!
Right now I'm reading
. I'm not really going in order, just basing it on what I feel like reading. I went into the Dream Man series and did a couple, as well as one of the Rock Chick books. I find that even though the characters show up from book to book, its not really necessary to know their back story. I think I'm on about my 6th now.

Clay, I loved
! Thanks for the rec. I just started
, so far it's good but not as intense as the other MC reads.
There was something about Braxxon. Reaper's Property is good, but Sheehan is the queen of MC novels. I need

Finished
late last night. New author for me. I liked the second chance love aspect of the story but the heroine was ANNOYING for at least 60% of the book (to me).
I'm not asking for perfect characters but sometimes I wonder why so many female authors write such annoying or TSTL female characters yet their heroes are the too good to be true variety like Axel. It's OK when the story makes sense...Because Axel and Izzy have history he doesn't just say "eff this!", which saved it from the DNF pile for me.

@Paganalexandria, I recommended Dancing With Danger to my sister. She loves the stripper/dancer theme!
Currently reading
and I'm not really impressed. The heroine is TMI all the time for no reason. There's sex & sexual attraction, but no real romance. Not much in the way of MC lifestyle/drama yet, this may end up being a DNF for a while.

@Lady Danielle I normally love a dancer theme so I couldn't figure out why I wasn't into
. Probably because I've been reading all these intense MC books and it was boring in comparison. Nora Roberts (of all people) has a great stripper character in
that your sister might like. Chloe is one of my favorite heroines of all time. Nora Roberts is hit or miss for me but that one has so many things I love: Irish heroes, three full fleshed relationship arcs, a stripper heroine, non-stop action and a smart geeky heroine that turns into a swan.
was awesome, so I will second the rec. The second half of the book was a long con to bring down the bad guy, à la Leverage.
I just finished Love Minus Eighty.
I was attracted to the book because of the cover and ended up really enjoying it. Its set in the future, where women who die are left "on ice" as Bridesicles (but only if you're at least an 8.6, lol), to be thawed only when an uber-wealthy person can afford it. Its also about a young man who falls in love with one of these women.
I just finished reading Poughkeepsie by Debra Anastasia and thought that it was wonderful! It's not overly sexual, but the dialogue between the characters are captivating. I thought the secondary characters were even better than the main ones. The more messed up they were, the better I liked them. :)
Lady Danielle aka The Book Huntress wrote: "Poughkeepsie sounds good. I'll keep it in mind. Thanks, Connie."No problem! :)
Currently, I'm trying to get through Erin McCarthy's Fast Track series. I'm currently on book 2, Hard and Fast .
I'm reading Epilogue the last book in the Dark Duet series. So far it's not grabbing me the way the others did. I'm almost halfway in snd miss the scary factor.
I just finished Outlander by Diana Gabaldon, and here is my review of it.
Positively, absolutely, outstanding! I cannot say enough to fully share how wonderful reading this book was, what an experience, what an adventure! As an author, when I grow up, I wanna be as good as Diana Gabaldon! Oh how she inspires me. Simply outstanding! I've now begun, the second book,
it's my late night reading, so it takes awhile to finish one as I only dedicate an hour or more to it, but she has taken me on quite the journey - one I have every intention of continuing on.
The h/h are young but the writing is fairly solid. My one complaint thus far is that the author has included a few details that she obviously is either guessing at or making assumptions. Namely Eminem's lyrics and the effects of a second hand buzz from pot.lol
Still the young heroine is likeable and pretty level headed for 18. And the hero is a pretty strong alpha for 18 so its a different read for me in that way. So far I like it.
All I can say, kids is READ THIS BOOK!!!!
Possibly the best written romance novel I've read this year. Don't be fooled by the age of the h/h. Its definitely not YA. SUCH a beautiful love story!

This is on my to-read, but their age was giving me pause. I'll have to move it up, lol. Is the follow up worth a read?

Savannah, I have heard so many good things about this series but just like JV passed it up because of the age. I am so anti-YA, and tend to avoid anything with the tag.
