Finished Black Seconds
. Good detective novel. I will definitely read more in the series. (I don't think it fits in anywhere in the mini challenge this month; just counts to the team challenge.)
Finished
today. It was just what I needed, apparently. lol I have been in a reading slump, starting but not finishing books. I guess I just needed something quick (180 pages) and easy to read. lol
Fairlee wrote: "Just finished Track of the Cat by Nevada Barr. I loved the ending."Yes, that was a good book, Fairlee. IMHO.
Started
last night, I've finished A Scandal in Bohemia and am now halfway through The Red-Headed League.
Finished
last night, in only a few hours. So action-packed! I'm counting it as Category 5. Having issues choosing what to read next...

♥Robin's♥ March “C Us Win” Challenge
Duration: March 1st through 31st. Any book read since then counts!
1. Luck - All books with “luck” in the title, the series name, or a major theme, count.
2. Time - Time Change (since we do Spring forward an hour on March 10). So, Time
Travel books, or anything with a watch or clock on the cover, count.
3. Lion/Lamb: March is “in like a lion; out like a lamb.” We’ll count books with
an animal on cover, or one where an animal plays a pivotal role in the story-line.
4. Wind: March is usually windy so generally a good time to fly kites. All books with
bright colors, or diamond shapes, or is set in Chicago, (known as “The Windy City”)
will count.
5. Women’s History Month: All books with a strong female character as a Main
Character or is book about a notable woman in history, count.
6. The Girl Scouts: Founded in March, 1912. So, count books with a character that
bakes, cooks, works with girls, or otherwise deserves a badge. Even a book that
has food that you could make cookies with on cover, as they are known for their
cookies!
7. First & Third: March used to be the first month of the year! First in a series, or the
third, will count.
8. Hylad Monath/Hraed Month: The Anglo Saxons used to call March by this
name, which means “stormy month” and “rugged month,” respectively. All books
with stormy/rainy weather on the cover or “rugged” man **sigh** count.
9. Summer Ending/Spring Coming: Some of us are experiencing the End of
Summer (Australia), some seeing the Coming of Spring (America). So, any titles with
“Summer” or “Spring” in them - or any covers that depict signs of them, count.

Thank you Lisa Kay :-). I finished Black Seconds
. It looks to me like the cover fits into category #8 - stormy, rugged month.
I finished
. Fits #3 animal on cover. (there's an eagle in upper left corner and horses in lower right.)
I just finished Will Grayson, Will Grayson
. I only gave it 2 stars. I think I am too far removed from high school drama to get really interested in it anymore. It would probably be a wonderful book for anyone just coming out or coming of age, but I'm not sure...I'll have to check it out with my gay friends and get their feedback. I did really notice the time difference in terms of decades and how being gay is now seen as no big deal (for the most part; just another option). What a contrast to the the story "Tell the wolves I'm Home" that was set in the late 1980s. Glad to see how far we have come, but I get the impression that a lot of Will Grayson, Will Grayson was not reality based; I've worked with youth who were absolutely terrified of what their peers would think.I don't think this book fits into any of the categories for the mini challenge.

Woohoo! I finished off three books today. I'm officially 4% ahead of schedule instead of where I usually am, at about 1% ahead.Still...many more books to get to!
You know, it would really help if I remembered to tag my books for this challenge. **shakes head at self**
Finished
(#7) on Sunday and found it incredibly boring. This morning I read
(#7) which I really liked. Still working on
Lisa Kay wrote: "Woohoo! I finished off three books today. I'm officially 4% ahead of schedule instead of where I usually am, at about 1% ahead.Still...many more books to get to!"
I wish I could finish 3 books in a day !!! Isn't it great to get those TBR books into the read book list :D
Gwendloyn, you can if you are reading 7 or 8 at a time and you have a few that are nearly finished, lol (at least that's how it once in awhile happens with me)
Cathie wrote: "Gwendloyn, you can if you are reading 7 or 8 at a time and you have a few that are nearly finished, lol (at least that's how it once in awhile happens with me)"Cathie, oh i wish that were true that I could read several fiction books at once. In my currently reading list I put my books that I hope to read during the month not what I am really reading at any given time. I usually have to read one book at a time, and in order (back to back) for a series.
I will say that, at this time, I'm working at reading one of Grimm's Fairy Tales (most days) and one story in Wind of the Willows a day. I hope to get Grimm's done by the end of the year and Wind sometime this week. but I am still reading one story at a time for each. This is how I read non-fiction--a little bit at a time.
If I do stop in the middle of a book and don't pick it up before another book it will most likely end up in the DNF (did not Finish) list or I'll have to stop over from the beginning :-O
At one time I was able to read up to 2 books a day. But I don't read that fast anymore. I'm doing really well reading 1 a day and usually I get 2 to 3 books in a week. I been pushing it (for the challenge) with a few quick reads in between my schedule monthly reading list. So I'm getting a couple of books more a week done. It is still a nice thought to hope to read 3 books a day though :D
Gwendolyn, I'm very impressed that you can read a book a day. I can, but only if the book really interests me. You have a wonderful reading appetite; I was only commenting on how it can sometimes show when I have more than 1 book listed as read on that day, it is usually only because I have been having a go at them for awhile :-).I really like your choices that you are reading now:-)
I just finished Minding Frankie
by Maeve Binchy. It was a wonderful cosy read :-)I'm not sure where it would fit in in the March mini challenge slot?
Cathie wrote: "Gwendolyn, I'm very impressed that you can read a book a day. I can, but only if the book really interests me. I dunno...what do you think Lisa Kay? Would this fit under the luck category... there was a lot of luck involved in this novel, luckily missing the intrusive social worker, luckily averting a few disastrous situations...can this go under the lucky section?

This is a BIG challenge. Things you can do to help me for my update posts:Indicated what #number applies to your book. Otherwise, I just think you are posting for the normal challenge.
Go ahead and do an update, but if you have new books for me to add, put those first so that when I hit "reply," I can just cut and paste the bookcover code. That really helps me, as I don't have to go to the book's profile page and copy the ISBN#.
Ok Lisa Kay :-). Thanks for all your work on keeping tabs on everything for us. This is a big challenge which means more work for you; we might want to remember this when we come up with ideas for April's challenge ~ we don't want to overwork you :-)
