It was nice to know it wasn't just me, I've never known a Sunday morning to be so quite in Cardiff. Even the drive home to my parents was weird as the traffic was that bit slower than normal!

Don't worry Jmom, I'm usually considered the scary one in the library, apparently I have a tendency to lurk and appear around corners unexpectedly ;-)

message 103: by Sam (new)

Sam (ecowitch) | 2354 comments Finished another one today with The Seven Branches by James Fenwick, think I'm really going to have to stalk the library shelves soon, I'm rapidly approaching those X and Y letters!!

message 104: by Sam (new)

Sam (ecowitch) | 2354 comments Finally finished my T with Titus Groan by Mervyn Peake, now on to another epic with Ulysses by James Joyce and to stalk the library for my X and Y options!!

message 105: by Sam (new)

Sam (ecowitch) | 2354 comments Finished U with Ulysses, did not enjoy that one! And found my X and Y in the library, onward ho!!! :-)

message 106: by Sarah (new)

Sarah | 18549 comments What have you chosen for your X and Y?

message 107: by Sam (new)

Sam (ecowitch) | 2354 comments After trawling the shelves at the library I picked up Xombie: Reanimated, Volume 1 by James Farr and Yossel. Writer, Joe Kubert by Joe Kubert. It seems that titles beginning with X and Y are a bit thin on the ground at my local!

Sam (ecowitch) | 2354 comments Thanks Connie, its more because I'm really focusing on this one and not worrying about the monthly challenges this year. I hope to get right through all seven alphabets by the end of the year ;-)

So I had to look -- HAAA!! Seriously reminds me of one of the creepy stories we girls would tell each other at sleepovers and scare ourselves half out of our wits :)

message 122: by Sam (new)

Sam (ecowitch) | 2354 comments I do have high hopes for that one Cherie, it was the title that caught my attention originally :-)

message 123: by Cherie (new)

Cherie (crobins0) | 21536 comments I just can't get it out of my mind. It is awful. I sincerely hope it is a good story.

Janice (jamasc) | 59873 comments You're doing great! I like the name of your D book too. :)

message 125: by Sam (new)

Sam (ecowitch) | 2354 comments Thanks Judy, some may say that's because I have waaaaaaaaaaaay too much free time but at least I know I'm understood on here ;-)

message 126: by Ava Catherine (new)

Ava Catherine | 4258 comments Sam, you are one hot cookie! Racing for the finish line!!! Hey, girl, there's no one behind you! LOL!!!

WTG!

message 127: by Sam (new)

Sam (ecowitch) | 2354 comments Thanks Connie, don't worry my next book will slow me down with its 1,300 plus pages!! ;-)

message 128: by Janice, Moderator (new)

Janice (jamasc) | 59873 comments Yikes! What are you reading this is 1300 pages!

message 129: by Sam (new)

Sam (ecowitch) | 2354 comments That would be London by Edward Rutherfurd Janice with a grand total of 1,302 pages :-)

message 130: by Janice, Moderator (new)

Janice (jamasc) | 59873 comments I started that one years ago and gave up on it, not because of its length, but it didn't appeal to me. I've kind of avoided his other books as a result.

message 131: by Sarah (new)

Sarah | 18549 comments Good luck with that one Sam!

message 132: by Sam (new)

Sam (ecowitch) | 2354 comments Well I can confirm that my D book, Never Suck a Dead Man's Hand: Curious Adventures of a CSI, was not a disappointment and lived up to everything the title suggested!

I haven't found it too bad so far Janice but I'm only a short way in so we'll see how it goes :-)

Sam, are you reading this book in "hard copy" or listening to it, or on an e-reader? I saw a copy of a 1500 page book at the library sale and picked it up. Even in paperback, it was heavy!

I am glad your D book turned out to be good for you. I have added it to my list. I love watching all of the CSI shows on TV. My oldest granddaughter wants to be one. She is in the service right now, but that is what she is planning on tackeling after she gets out and goes back to school.

Marnie (marnie19) | 3258 comments I too have requested this book- but I want it in book form so I can carry it around and watch people's reaction to the title!

I've got a paperback version of it so I'm exercising while reading ;-)

In that case I would definitely recommend getting her a copy, it'll show her what she's really in for (although being in the service is probably good preparation!).

Now that's what I like to hear Janice :-)

Marnie wrote: "I too have requested this book- but I want it in book form so I can carry it around and watch people's reaction to the title!"

I had some interesting looks when I was out and about reading it, particularly at the airport! Think people were relieved when I wasn't on their flight! ;-)

message 141: by Sam (new)

Sam (ecowitch) | 2354 comments I have finally finished London by Edward Rutherfurd and now feel the need for a short recess of easy reading before the next one on my list!!

message 144: by Cherie (new)

Cherie (crobins0) | 21536 comments LOL! I just read the story line for your book, Sam.
I think my daughter can quote quite a few of his scripts! Maybe she will see the title. :D

message 145: by Ava Catherine (new)

Ava Catherine | 4258 comments Sam, just thought I'd check in on you, and WOW! London! That one is still on my bookshelf. I was amused by your "D" title--glad it turned out to be a good read. After London, you need some light, breezy reads for a while. Of course, they are all lighter after London. : )

It was a good read Connie but my good it really is weighty (in every sense of the word). I was exhausted when I finally finished it! Glad I got through it though :-)

message 147: by Sam (new)

Sam (ecowitch) | 2354 comments Got a few more down but now have to hunt down an 'O' first named author...think a visit to the library is called for ;-D

message 148: by Sam (new)

Sam (ecowitch) | 2354 comments Found and read my O with the 88 Killer by Oliver Stark

And now on to the next ;-)

message 149: by Rusalka, Moderator (new)

If only Rusalka, it's more a case of work keeping me absolutely manic and away from GR!!
