The inspiration for The Serpentine Throne series is my oldest Son. He has always loved dragons (to the obsession extent). Later in his high school years, he got involved in Japanese arts, anime, and even took 2 years of Japanese during high school. We also play DnD as a family. The combination of his love for those elements and our gaming led to this series.(less)

Hi Mary,
Thanks for the question! I grew up in northeast Texas. I lived in Paris from the time I was 7 years old. Before that, Kilgore and Tyler.

With the snow this year, I kind of want to go back. :)

Best,

Echoes of the Oval Portrait by Meadoe Hora
"This book was a great retell of Poe’s “The Oval Portrait.” I love the spooky and the mix of cozy the book gives. But the modern-day characters and the added depth of the book was a great touch."
Echoes of the Oval Portrait by Meadoe Hora
"4.25 stars
This Poe-inspired gothic romance was both chilling and cozy/sweet.

I got chills at one point and also stopped reading after a certain chapter that led to a nightmare. Ooops. So creepy/chilling vibes were on point!

Neil Gaiman
“Start telling the stories that only you can tell, because there’ll always be better writers than you and there’ll always be smarter writers than you. There will always be people who are much better at doing this or doing that - but you are the only you.

Tarantino - you can criticize everything that Quentin does - but nobody writes Tarantino stuff like Tarantino. He is the best Tarantino writer there is, and that was actually the thing that people responded to - they’re going ‘this is an individual writing with his own point of view’.

There are better writers than me out there, there are smarter writers, there are people who can plot better - there are all those kinds of things, but there’s nobody who can write a Neil Gaiman story like I can.”
Neil Gaiman

Alice Munro
“I was amazed as people must be who are seized and kidnapped, and who realize that in the strange world of their captors they have a value absolutely unconnected with anything they know about themselves.”
Alice Munro, Lives of Girls and Women

Walt Whitman
“Afoot and lighthearted I take to the open road, healthy, free, the world before me.”
Walt Whitman

C. JoyBell C.
“Ends are not bad things, they just mean that something else is about to begin. And there are many things that don't really end, anyway, they just begin again in a new way. Ends are not bad and many ends aren't really an ending; some things are never-ending.”
C. JoyBell C.

“Courage doesn’t happen when you have all the answers. It happens when you are ready to face the questions you have been avoiding your whole life.”
