Tl;dr: Understanding adult helps develop the character of a misunderstood rebellious teen.
----- Izzy is a young rebellious teenager without (m)any social contacts. She grows up in a suburb where everything is planned for perfection. Her parents and siblings don't really like nor understand Izzy because of her rebellious and nonconformist nature.
Mia, a single mother and a creative person with a rebellious nature, travels around the country with nothing but their few possessions.
Inevitably, when they meet, Izzy is drawn to Mia and her reckless bohemian convention-breaking attitude. Mia becomes the first adult to understand Izzy's nature and they form a close-knit relationship. Izzy's character develops in a positive way because of this. -----
