Contemporary is touch-and-go with me, as I adore the dark and fantastical kind of tales. And a touch of romance in any story is enjoyable, but I don't need it to feel like a story is complete or not.
What I will read: pretty much anything captivating, but usually not thrillers or horror, as they tend to bore me. I like to be surprised, as in "I saw that coming, but only after it happened" because going back and noting excellent foreshadowing is the best.
SMUT GETS A NO FROM ME because honestly unless it's on the non-graphic side and just a few paragraphs between my ships, sex bores me. I'd rather be reading about a murder or space battle.
Finally: I tend to stick to the YA genre, but I will venture into the "adult" world for certain authors or stories that catch my eye.
If you're unsure about recommending a book to me, the worst that will happen is that I won't read it, but I love discovering new books and connecting with people over mutually read stories, so don't let my rather long descriptions frighten you....more

Possibly (in my opinion, probably) the greatest work of fantasy literature. Surpassed only by the second book in the trilogy, Gormenghast.
