I just completed Gary Paulsen's "Road Trip" this morning. I want to find more touching modern (realism) dog stories without any profanity or violence, from middle grade to adult. I love the innocence and quickness of MG and am writing at that level myself for kids 10-14, and I have a 2 year old labraheeler I completely adore. YA or adult books without cursing would be great, too (I am an adult) as well, as long as it's not fantasy, goth, horror or sci fi. Suggestions?...more
