I wrote about them in Shade:A Story of a Very Smart Raven. This raven belongs to a local resident who bought her from a private breeder to do research. Because there was an interest for more factual information about ravens, I published The Un-Common Raven: One Smart Bird that was cited as a children’s Panelist Pick in the 2013 Southwest Books of the Year. Dear Hubby of Mine: Home Front Wives of World War II was told with loving letters my parents exchanged during the war. My mother was on the home front raising children and my father was in the Pacific on a destroyer fighting the Japanese. The letters convey the heartache of separation and the new roles they both assumed. My latest children’s book is Needle in a Haystack: How Clyde W. Tombaugh Found an Awesome New World. Clyde discovered planet Pluto at Lowell Observatory in Flagstaff, Arizona. The author visits schools, libraries, and museums around Arizona to present book talks, story hours and workshops about self-publishing. Visit Arizona’s red rock country and you will be delighted by my raven friends circling overhead.
