I love James Rollins, and I am having a difficult time finding other authors that come close in quality. Especially if they follow a similar genre (combining history and science fiction). Especially if they follow a similar genre (combining history and science fiction). While they are many authors who write science fiction, not many currently comes close to the quality of James Rollins. What I love is how he manages to combine science and history. He incorporates real history so well, that you have to remind yourself that you are reading a novel! He gets a little "formulaic" at times, but overall manages to produce solid material and keeps the reader hooked. His books are like Indiana Jones meets Micheal Crichton and James Bond. I have read most, if not all of his books, and usually wait anxiously until he releases the next one after tearing through his releases.
For all you well versed sci-fi readers, can you recommend some other good sci-fi authors? Especially if they follow a similar genre (combining history and science fiction)! I've looked through the automated recommendations of goodreads and amazon, and I still can't find much quality. Thanks for your help!!...more
