Shay asked Colleen Houck:

This is probably a weird question. How is it different reading books you wrote than if they were written by another author?

Colleen Houck It's hard not to be self-editing when reading your own books. I constantly find better ways of saying something. At some point, you have to learn to let it go. I suppose that's a good thing. It shows you've grown as a writer. I'd hate to look back on what I did working as a twenty something. I'm a much better employee now than I was back then. A book is like a picture, frozen in time. Sometimes you wince at what you wore. ;)
