Lewis M. Weinstein Is it too egotistical to choose my own characters from my first and most recent historical novels?

In THE HERETIC and its sequel THE POPE'S CONSPIRACY there are Benjamin and Esther, and in A FLOOD OF EVIL there are Anna and Berthold.

My goal in each of those novels is to allow the reader to feel the simultaneous glory and pain of a couple sustaining and building love in the face of enormous external challenges.

I've seen your comments on a lot of books related to WWII, and just wanted to give you recommendation to read David Irving's "Hitler's War". You seem like your deeply interested in that part of history, and if you still have the interest and the time to invest in a 900 page book, i highly recommend you read "Hitler's War". In my forty years of research i've concluded it to be the most important book on the subject.?
