I'm not aware of a large number of fictional couples. Generally it's a lone hero or a "buddy" tale of two men or two women. As for couples, I go for Nick and Nora Charles of the Thin Man movies. She's clearly his equal. They love each other and work well as a detective team. Oh, yes, and Lucy and Desi Richardo of "I Love Lucy."
