How do you get inspired to write?

Cecelia J. Bonwick I have a brain that is like a story prompt generator - that is forever coming up with new ideas. I get inspired by my experiences, history, my family and everyday life. I think it stems back to listening to stories on the ABC as a child... I could smell the action, taste the tastes and feel the pain... Its amazing when an inspirational thought comes to hand... all writers need to have a form of a notebook... either an electronic device or paper and pen... for those moments... Many of mine come to me as I am falling asleep... in that defocus mode... so its either let sleep claim the thought or wake up and write it down.
