Cecelia J. Bonwick That is a tough one - but I would have to say Lucy and Nicholas Sabine in 'Moonraker's Bride'... Why? Both these characters are unique in the manner of courtship; bonding etcetera... This story is so well woven, my daughter and I have re-read it time and time again... It taught me a lot about the views of those entering a different country... the obstacles they can face... it has its funny parts but it has an overall serious plot.
Cecelia J. Bonwick Write regardless, it might be the last chapter, it mightn't necessarily even relate to your planned story. For instance, pick out a few items in view and feature them in a short story.
Cecelia J. Bonwick As a disabled person - it is something I can mostly do regardless of my physical ailments. I love seeing how my characters take me on a journey other than the one I planned. Most of my writing is done in my head... then as it is entered on paper... the characters have minds of their own... When I wrote my first book, I was unaware of this and it amazed me no end... I love how the brain becomes creative... even editing has its rewards. But I also learn wonderful things about my children who are my greatest support team... the information they contain in their magnificent brains when I need it, is fantastic...
Cecelia J. Bonwick I have a brain that is like a story prompt generator - that is forever coming up with new ideas. I get inspired by my experiences, history, my family and everyday life. I think it stems back to listening to stories on the ABC as a child... I could smell the action, taste the tastes and feel the pain... Its amazing when an inspirational thought comes to hand... all writers need to have a form of a notebook... either an electronic device or paper and pen... for those moments... Many of mine come to me as I am falling asleep... in that defocus mode... so its either let sleep claim the thought or wake up and write it down.
Cecelia J. Bonwick Set aside time each day to sit down and write regardless, about anything, I set a goal of 800 words a day. Don't get stuck in making it perfect - just write!
Cecelia J. Bonwick I'm currently working with my team to do last-minute edits on "Her Father's Shadow" before the big day. I am also working on the sequel - which I can't tell you about just yet - spoilers. I also have another novel that is ready to be edited once we publish "Her Father's Shadow" and we will be publishing that one... "The Jewel of Dulahrane" later this year. It is about a lady who faces incredible life and death battles including domestic violence.
Cecelia J. Bonwick Her Father's Shadow has been inspired by two yellowed pages given to me by my father when I asked him to write his life story. He felt the cryptic message would answer my questions, but have only led to questions we'll never truly know the answers to. So in his memory I've used that letter and my very imaginative imagination to write the book. We include a transcript of that precious letter in the front of the book.
