Where did you get the idea for your most recent book?

Rae Louise I've been interested in the paranormal for as long as I can remember, so the 'haunted house' tales have always been a favourite. Ironically, this had nothing to do with my inspiration behind The Fear. The clue is in the title - and the more psychological aspects of the book. Anxiety disorders can make being trapped within the four walls of a house terrifying enough, without the presence of a demonic entity! While the foundations of a traditional ghost story are there, I wanted to throw in other elements to make it something altogether different. It's a popular basis for so many books and films, of which I didn't feel it necessary to add to. Perhaps that meant taking a risk, especially as The Fear hits that border between mainstream and extreme horror; but hopefully there's something for everyone.
