Why does Maurice say to Maisie, turn to James he has always been there? James never seemed interested in Maisie before his return to England. He He and Maisie never really seemed to converse or be in the same area for longer than a fleeing momentum if ever. Why and how is it Maurice aware of this supposedly long held attraction?

Jacqueline Winspear Maurice is a deeply intuitive soul - sometimes we don't see someone or something that is right under our noses, but James returned from Canada and saw something different in Maisie. Their relationship grows over several books.

The latest book, This Grave Hour, is SO good! My only complaint is that I wish I could have stayed in the world longer. Is Maisie ever coming to TV for a long, slow adaptation like Miss Fisher's Murder Mysteries? I'd watch!
