Will, you may not remember me, but I will always remember you and the good care you gave in my stint with William Morrow and my book, "A Prayer for Children." You are a wonderful editor and I was so glad to see your name and hope you get this note. I am still writing byline columns...at the ripe OLD Age of 75. Whew! Best wishes from a big fan. Cheers? Dear Ina:
I can not tell you how happy it makes me to be back in touch. Of course I remember you! That was one of my favorite books I ever published and I just loved working with you. In fact, just a few months ago I went on line and read some of your latest columns and even tried to send you a message, though clearly I didn't succeed. Would love a proper catch-up at some time. Sending you my very fondest regards. As ever! Will

Hello Mr. Schwalbe. My name is Valeria Mafra, I'm 18 years old and I read your book Books For The Living, top-notch book by the way. Anyways In your book you said something about questions, and how you said you made most of your questions in High School and whatnot. I have a question for you since you're wise and all. Is it okay that I don't know what I want to do in the future? I'm honestly really confused atm.

I'm butting in here Mr Schwalbe. I love Y/A literature and used to teach 7th/8th grade. My all-time favorites are The Book Thief (Zusak), The Giver (Lois Lowry) and Dandelion Wine (Ray Bradbury). Recent things I've enjoyed are I'll Give You The Sun (Jandy Nelson), The Fault in Our Stars (John Green) and Secret Wisdom of the Earth (Scotton). Have you read those?

Will Schwalbe:
Carey got a first in English Literature, and I have inherited all her books. She told me to read 'Staring into the Sun', Irvin Yalom. We both read Didion's 'Year of Magical Thinking'. And I find myself drawn to 'sad' books- 'When breath becomes air', by Paul Kalanithi was powerful reading, likewise 'Mend the Living' by Maylis de Kerangal? Thanks for your reply and good wishes. Eileen
