Hello Mr. Schwalbe. My name is Valeria Mafra, I'm 18 years old and I read your book Books For The Living, top-notch book by the way. Anyways In your book you said something about questions, and how you said you made most of your questions in High School and whatnot. I have a question for you since you're wise and all. Is it okay that I don't know what I want to do in the future? I'm honestly really confused atm.

So nice to meet you, Valeria! I'm so grateful that you read my book and reached out to me. And thanks for the kind words. Just from my experience, it's TOTALLY okay that you don't know what you want to do in the future at age 18. I sure didn't. And most of my friends who are now happily doing all sorts of things didn't either. My two cents is all you really need to know is what you want to do next year. Pursue something, anything, that interests you and see where it leads. But don't worry whether it's the thing you want to do for the rest of your life. Does that make sense?

Hi, we did The end of your life book club for our book club read and we all enjoyed immensly. So thank you for sharing this story of you and your mum at a most inimate time. You must be very proud of her. I just wanted to ask what books you would recommend for reading in 2017?

I met you when you visited Blue Willow Bookshop in Houston before the pandemic. I told you about how your book "The End of Your Life Bookclub" moved me as I had just lost my mother, an English professor, to ALS. You autographed my book, "in memory of Nora." I just placed an order for your newest book and can't wait to read it? Thank you for enriching my life and for giving me solace in my grief. Mary Ann Balock
