A Goodreads user asked Scott Sigler:

Hi there! I was wondering when your best time of day is for writing? Is it the morning, afternoon, night, etc.?

Scott Sigler Abbasali,

For me, it's morning. I try to do this:
a) Get up at 6am
b) Go to the gym
c) Be home by 8:30am.
d) Start writing at 9:00am, write until noon (at a minimum.

Once the day gets going, once you start looking at email, talking to loved ones about whatever problems are afoot, all of that takes brain power. I prefer to use sleep to my advantage because a lot of my day-to-day stress dies down, so I write before that stress kicks up.

That's my way, but there are many others. I know people who don't even start writing until 6pm or later.
