This is not so much a question but a plea. I just voted for books of the year and did not see Alive in either of the young adult categories. I went ahead and did a write in vote for it. For those who see this, Alive should have, at least, been among the nominees. Do a write in vote under young adult science fiction/fantasy category. (No, Scott didn't tell me to write this did you?)

The Goodreads team have many, many books from which to choose each year. While there are always a few outliers with huge numbers of reviews, they have to make hard choices about which books to include in their annual poll. I've been included several times in the past. This time? Not so much. That's cool. But thank you for the write-in vote!

I'm wondering if your new book Alive (which I understand is YA) has any chance to live up to the sometimes very adult, dark, gory goodness that The Infected series, or Nocturnal, or even Ancestor delivered? Don't get me wrong YA is ok sometimes, but what I really want is the vivid, intense, grisly, awesomeness that is your imagination. Anyway, thanks for all you've done. I hope there's much more to come.
